This SL, with only 132K original miles, has the early european bumpers, the 450 engine without all the smog requirements of later SL's and hence much more horsepower and economy. Much more collectable. This is a collectable Mercedes SL. I have taken detailed pictures and inspected it for defects. There is some saging in the seat bottom from being set upon. Very natural. Chrome is great, both tops are there with the soft top not in perfect shape, therefore the winning bidder gets a brandnew German Canvas soft top with the car. The owners manual and some books as well as 4 keys come with the car. Paint is not in perfect condition, some scratches touched up, but very presentable. The interior is good for the age. The car underwent a restoration in 1999 at the Mercedes Benz dealership. The Mileage at this time was 115K, the car got a new front axle (recall) and the engine top and the transmission were redone, therefore there is not a single drop of any fluid leaking. A new speedo was installed at the same time, therefore it reads only 17K miles. It could be driven to the East Coast if desired. I list the car without any reserve and let the market decide. The car is fully registered and can be driven anywhere. For international bidders I can drive the car to a shipper in Los Angeles, I only charge my own expense.
