Relisting due to winning bidder claims he didn't read the auction and had no intention of buying. Unbelievable but true.Unfortunately my very well sorted 1990 Black/Linen 944 S2 was involved in a building collapse last week about an hour's north of New York City. Not having the time to deal with it I have decided to sell. As per the highly regarded body shop in which it is stored in New Windsor, NY, all the damage is cosmetic. The car is a fairly easy fix or probably worth even more parted, given the condition of the vehicle prior to the accident. No insurance claim so title will be delivered with no accident history. Here's the best description I can give. I am not interested in parting the car out myself. There were 2 previous owners who were true enthusiasts and did everything necessary to care for the car. Key maintenance such as tune ups, timing belt and water pump, suspension have all been updated. Champion Motorsport wheels and Pirelli tires in excellent condition. Brakes, electrical, etc. all worked with no issues. The front hood has an air scoop which the last owner installed. Original linen seats come with the car. Vehicle has approximately 100,000 miles. The damage was due to a beam that came down on top of the car. The damage is all cosmetic and includes as follows. To be replaced: right fender, trunk lid, right door, convertible top, convertible top frame, windshield and windshield frame. The car was not insured so if you choose to fix it, there would be no accident reported on the carfax. This is/was a fantastic car and this 944 S2 Cabriolet comes in a very desirable color combination. The wheels/tires alone are worth $2,500 easily if you choose to part the car out. I have all the books, keys (2), car cover and front bra. More pictures available upon request and car is available for inspection during the week. Car must be picked up and paid for in full within 48 hours of auctions end. Also, for those interested repairing the car, the shop's estimate for labor (body) was $2,2,00 (@37 hours). I have no affiliation of this body shop; it was recommended to me by the local and well respected independent Porsche tech (Advanced Automotive of New Windsor, NY).Factory option codes are as follows: 454 Automatic Speed Control; 490 Hi-Fi Sound System; 494 2 Speaker on Back Shelf / Amplifier System; 533 Alarm System; 573 Air Conditioner; 593 Antilock Brake System; 946 Leather/Leatherette Seats In 1989 the 944S2 was introduced, powered by a 211 PS (155 kW; 208 hp) normally aspirated, dual-overhead-cam 16-valve 3.0L version of the 944Sengine. With a bore of 104 mm (4.1 in) and a stroke of 88 mm (3.5 in), it was the largest production 4-cylinder engine of its time. The 944S2 also received a revised transmission and gearing to better suit the 3.0-liter M44/41 powerplant. The 944S2 had the same rounded nose and a rear valance found on the Turbo model. This was the first example of the use of an integrated front bumper, where the fender and hood profiles would merge smoothly with the bumper, a design feature that has only now seen widespread adoption on the 1990 onward production cars. Performance was quoted as 0-60 mph in 6.0 seconds (0–100 km/h 6.8 s), with a top speed of 240 km/h (150 mph) via manual transmission. A Club Sport touring package (M637) was also available.
