Vehicle Detail

This 997 turbo was my failthful daily driver and babied every step of the way. Garaged at home and at work, meticulously maintained, in excellent condition. The only really visible flaw from a distance is some rash on the left front spoiler from some road debris, I'm sure easily sanded away and repainted. There is a clear bra on the remainder of the front bumper, hood, and side panels below the intakes, so paint is in overall great shape. The car was purchased from Carmax and has a year and a half left on its powertrain warranty, which is transferable to a new owner. As you can see from the pictures, the stopwatch on the dash means that the car is equipped with the sports chrono package. So what has been done on the car? For those of you familiar with 997TT, you know that the clutch slave cylinder is prone to failure. Mine gave it up soon after purchase and was replaced under warranty. Oil and filter were changed every 5k miles with Mobil 1 synthetic. I put in fresh transmission oil several months ago so that should be good for another 40k miles. The cupholder broke and was also replaced. Other than the slave cylinder the car has given me no significant problems whatsoever. The interior is gorgeous with still-fragrant, soft leather. I've conditioned that leather so many times with so many different kinds of conditioner that I've lost count. I've driven it gently since it was my daily driver, too gently actually. That said, the fact that it was out and about every day means there's none of the sclerosis that you would see with a garage queen. All the electronics work. Upgrades? I had a factory short shifter kit installed and it totally changed the driving experience. Shifts are crispy yet smooth, a vast improvement over stock. Most important is the exhaust. As I'm sure you know, the less restrictive an exhaust in a turbo, the more power it produces. After doing a lot of research, I had a $5000 Europipe Stage 1 exhaust installed last year. If you do a search and read the forums about aftermarket exhausts for 997 turbos, you will find that this is one of the most respected brands out there in this competitive market. They use 100cpi catalytic converters instead of the more common 200cpi seen on other brands, which themselves are much freer flowing than the stock 600cpi. Horsepower is increased by about 20-25 and the exhaust note is completely transformed from the appliance-like stock system. At warm idle, it is just a little bit louder than stock but if you rev it you hear a distinctive rasp and the turbo whistle is much more noticeable. It's a treat driving it in a parking garage with the windows down. The power increase is also very noticeable, and it opens up all sorts of possibilities if you want to flash the CPU in the future. Front tires are like new, but the rears will be due for a change fairly soon. If you have any questions please let me know. On Mar-19-14 at 09:52:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to add in first version: Interior/exterior LED light kit was also installed: map lights, floor lights, puddle lights, glove box, trunk, rear license plate. Tasteful, looks kinda futuristic, longer-lasting than incandescents. The spark plugs were replaced with one step colder versions while the exhaust was off; this is also recommended if you flash the CPU.
