Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 2000 Mustang GT Convertible that has been almost completely swapped with original parts from a 2003 Cobra. This isn't your average bolt on swapped/bumper only GT etc. This vehicle is literally only missing a couple things that would make it indistinguishable from the real Cobra's of 03-04. I have owned 3 2003 Cobra's so know all about the power, ride, and parts involved. This GT you are looking at is literally the best riding and handling one of them all. This car was not built by me but by someone who paid a lot of attention to detail when building their projects. My guess is the car was built for the curves with all the suspension/drivetrain work that has been done: Independent Rear Suspension from a 2003 Cobra installed H&R Race Springs Koni Shocks and 10 Way Adjustable Struts It also has subframe connectors, under hood chrome sway bar and a bolted in roll bar to strengthen the chassis and make this car go where you point it and look great doing it On top of that it has slotted and cross drilled rotors at each corner and also has the entire brake system setup from a Cobra as well. The fastest/easiest stopping car I've ever driven 2000 Cobra R 18's with new BFG's at each corner The car sports a T56 6 speed transmission as well which shifts amazingly well. The gears are very close together and make the ride so much more enjoyable than the T45 5 speed was ever able to offer in these cars. I was told the transmission was gone through and has upgraded internals but I'm not for sure. It shifts very firmly and makes no noises so my guess is that it was indeed built. The car also has many Cobra specific cosmetic touches that the owner wanted done to make this car an absolute replica to a tee. Cobra Front bumper, convertible top, hood, side skirts, side scoops, trunk lid and spoiler, and rear bumper all installed. To make it even better the car was repainted once all these items were installed for a fresh new appearance. The paint was extremely well done, and in my opinion is an 8/10. The interior of the car sports the 03 Cobra steering wheel, leather shift boot, center console, pedal assembly, and even the gauge cluster from an 03 Cobra as well showing 25936 miles. I was told these miles weren't far off from what the motor and transmission have on them as well. Also has a Pioneer touch screen CD/DVD player. Yes it will play movies on a trip. The only items missing from this car from what I've seen from looking under, in, and around on the vehicle that aren't Cobra are the headlights, seats and motor. The 2V GT motor I was told was a new crate motor when it and the transmission went in. Almost all the manufacturer markings are clearly visible and the engine itself is spotless with no leaks or weird noises. It also has a completely new A/C system with new compressor and lines that were installed when the motor went in It is a 2V GT motor with its only modifications being a BBK throttle body, intake, and a very expensive Steeda exhaust. The car sounds and runs strong without being obnoxious like many and averages over 23+mpg! I should note the only negative is the speedometer is out of calibration due to the gearing of the T-56 and rear-end gear changes. This is easily fixed with a hand held tuner or SpeedCal from any retailer. If you're looking for a fun toy that you can cruise in for half the price of a clean low mileage Cobra, and get twice the reliability, then this is it. Would also make a very fun first car for someone needing something a little more conservative power level. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have and I will try my best to answer them with as much information as I have available. Serious buyers if you need my number please message me and I will give it to you. Thanks again guys! A 500$ non-refundable deposit is due when purchasing. Shipping is at buyers expense and only after contacting me first of course. I will consider traveling on a case by case basis and obviously would prefer a local pickup. Vehicle will be sold as-is due to its modifications and age. Please don't hesitate to message me for more details as I pride myself on being an honest informative seller. Thanks! EDIT: The car has a mileage discrepancy on the Autocheck from the gauge cluster swap of course. The title says "Mileage: Exempt" for this reason and its age. Don't let that deter you from seeing this vehicle in your driveway as it has a clean history other than that according to Autocheck. Please let me know any other questions you may have! Thanks
