Vehicle Detail

Want to go 0 to 60 in 4 seconds and then cruise the highway at 2,400 rpm? I am selling my ’64 Ford Falcon hardtop to pay for my mom’s alcohol rehab (sympathy bids greatly appreciated). This car was originally built in San Jose, California and I bought it from a Harley shop owner that had been restoring it since he was 17…little by little. He did a lot of great work, and then I finished it off. It’s the third Falcon that I have brought to life, and I tried to put ALL of the goodies in this one. Everything that moves has been replaced except the steering box…but that’s in good shape, too. See a 7 min video tour and test drive of the car on my YouTube channel at: http://youtu.be/-EYo2_mYIzI What’s Under the Hood This car has a total of $13,974 in new parts…but not just any parts. Here is what this guy is packing: DSS Racing 306 Short Block (302 roller cam engine), pistons for Twisted Wedge heads, main stud girdle Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Aluminum Heads (TFS-51400002) with 2.02” intake and 1.60” exhaust valves, port matched, with the springs redone to match the cam below Comp/Crane Cams .565/.574 lift (int/exh), 282/290 duration at 0.006, 232/240 duration at 0.050; performance band 2600 to 6500 RPM Barry Grant “King Demon” carburetor (132-1282010); like a Holley Double Pumper but all 4 barrels provide fuel at idle. It is the smoothest, most responsive carburetor I have ever had. It has a manual choke. Holley blue, 110 gallon/hour high flow fuel pump (12-802), Fram enormous fuel filter (FRM-HPG1), and inertia switch/relay system to turn off the pump in the event of an accident. Edelbrock Victor Jr. Intake Manifold (2921), port matched MSD ignition with selectable electronic rev limiter (MSD 6AL, 6420) Milodon 8 qt. oil pan (MIL-30925) Hooker headers, port matched Dual exhaust with Flowmaster 3 chamber mufflers and exhaust dumps for race day/infuriating your neighbors Aluminum, Cross Flow racing radiator (GRI-1-26241-X); Flex-a-Lite dual electric fans and thermostatically controlled fan switch (FLX-210 and FLX-30332) Optima gel cell battery, mounted in a Taylor Cable aluminum battery box, with NHRA required electrical shutoff switch mounted in the back of the car. Transmission/Axles/Suspension But wait, there’s more!! TCI AOD 4 speed automatic overdrive racing transmission, built for 450 HP (TCI-431000) TCI 3,500 RPM Stall Converter, Lockup style (TCI-432800) Driveline built by a company that makes them for tractor-trailers (i.e. strong) Ford 9” nodular iron differential Moser Engineering 35 spline axles with NHRA required wheel stud lengths Detroit Locker differential with 4.11:1 gears Subframe connectors (AutoKrafters X19196) Traction Bars, Southside Machine (SSM-1301) Weld aluminum wheels with just the right offsets (different front/rear) so you get the maximum rubber on the road. Comes with two extra matching rear wheels with drag slicks mounted on them. Creature Comforts and Safety Don’t be relegated to the comforts known in the original Falcon. Along with the factory 1 ashtray per person, enjoy these additional features: Four wheel disk brakes provided by Wilwood (Front 140-4304, Rear 140-2118), Aluminum 2 Reservoir Master Cylinder, Adjustable Proportioning Valve New springs and shocks; 2” drop springs in front and leaf springs in the back (AutoKrafters 42-335) Intermittent wipers; not a kit but a real Ford system from a late 70's truck New seat belts for 4 lucky passengers SFI rated racing flexplate (TCI-529620) 5” diameter racing tachometer with selectable shift warning light (Autometer ATM-3905) Water temperature, transmission temperature, and oil pressure gauges Ratcheting shifter to bang through the gears and keep you from hitting reverse at 110 mph (NHRA requirement) Bluetooth CD player, FM/AM radio, with remote control Tinted windows Dynamat rubberized floor covering (for sound deadening) Excellent heater – 400 HP makes a bit of extra heat, and I rebuilt the entire heater box with new felt door cushions, heater core, and defroster ducts. Performance Specifications Approximately 400 horsepower at the flywheel, based on confirmed 305 horsepower at the rear wheels, per dyno test. You can watch the dyno test on the Youtube website. Search for “ezgoing954” and then look for the black falcon or click here: http://youtu.be/-sJ5qLwebeg 3,000 pounds car, comes with drag slicks as well as street tires, all with matching rims 0 to 60 in 4 seconds 13.2 second ¼ mile @ 106 mph, consistently (with the provided slicks on, of course). Again, see Youtube for that video or click here: http://youtu.be/L6pjqRczJtk Other Stuff You Should Know The car has been rewired using the Painless Wiring kit. All wires have their function printed on the wire itself and, unlike another Falcon you might find, you do not need to worry about chafed, brittle old wires or wires whose origin can only be known by guessing what color the wire was 50 years ago. The rear seat was reupholstered in 2011 to the original look. Trunk lid, windshield and rear window weather stripping has been replaced. The car meets all NHRA rules for drag racing for its class. The front tires have about 10,000 miles on them and the back tires are new with about 300 miles on them. Included with the sale of the car are the following… NEW parts that I have not installed: “FORD” lettering for the hood, window fuzzies (go between the door and glass), high performance front anti-sway bar, headliner. USED parts that I have not installed: Remaining front fender trim, exterior door trim, chrome “chevrons” (trim that bolts on the rear fenders and looks like this “))))”), kick panels, rear speakers. EXTRA Falcon parts that I obviously will no longer need The body/paint – This car has a few small dents; one on the trunk lid, one on the left front fender, and a couple on the driver’s door. In addition, the passenger rear fender has about 1/16” to 1/8” of plastic body filler on it that needs to be redone. The current paint is a satin black paint. Other parts of the body (underside, floorpan) were painted with POR-15 rust preventative paint. Please ask me some questions if you need further information. Thanks, and happy bidding!!
