Vehicle Detail
This is our 1958/1959 Toyopet Crown Custom Wagon-the 1st Toyota ever produced and sold in the United States. It is my understanding there was a small number brought to the United States and is so historically significant, it probably belongs in a Museum. This Toyopet is far from perfect condition but should be considered well above just a worthwhile restoration project due to how rare, unique and valuable this is to the history of Toyota. Cosmetically the body is near perfect, no dents or damage at all, and due to it being stored inside and in a desert climate the only rust spot needing repair is on the passenger rocker between the doors (see pic). The rear glass and one door glass needs replaced, all other glass is intact and looks decent. From what I can tell the only chrome missing is above the grill and the "P" in "TOYOPET" and passenger mirror is missing. Interior will need redone, seat frames and springs look decent, radio and dash knobs are cracked and faded and it looks like paint spilled on the driver side floorboard when in storage. Mechanically, the carb and misc small engine parts are missing and I'm sure it will need a rebuild as it appears it was disassembled at some point. I do have clean and clear title in hand, the title says year model 1958 but from what I understand this Toyopet was manufactured in 1958 and sold in 1959. This auction has no reserve, high bid will own this piece of history and I will not end the auction early for any amount of money, please don't ask. If winning bidder is in Southern California or Nevada I can assist with delivery. If winning bidder is overseas I can deliver to any of the Los Angeles shipping terminals. Winning bidder must make the non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of winning the auction. Full payment within 7 days and I can store the vehicle for up to 30 days if needed. As you can tell from my 100% perfect feedback I am honest and accurate in all of my listings and have sold several classic and muscle cars since I started on eBay in 2003, that being said, I do have a few bidder requirements....Please take the time to view the pictures and ask for more specifics if needed. Please ask all questions BEFORE you bid, not after. I encourage personal and 3rd party inspections and am available Monday-Saturday for serious bidders only. I have been in the automotive industry all my life and do know what I am looking at, I also know that others may see things differently and realize the possibility of overlooking something when describing a vehicle, so communication is very important!
