Vehicle Detail

1952 Dodge Coronet Club Coupe I bought over a decade ago to restore, but I have finally realized that I will never do it. It was supposed to be a father/son(s) project. Car came from Texas to the south side of Chicago in the late 70's and sat in a garage until the owner passed away in the 90's. The widow sold the car to a friend and it sat in his garage until I bought it, then it sat in my dad's garage. The body has some surface rust, but the car is solid. No holes in the trunk, floors or rockers. The car has never been in an accident. The body is really good. Some work has been done to the car. I had the head milled, radiator rebuilt, carb rebuilt, intake and exhaust manifolds have been milled flat. Water pump has been replaced. Car is mostly complete, but missing a couple of little things like the door trim on one side. The interior is complete minus the carpeting. Seats are ok, head liner is falling down. Gas tank is out of the car. Drivers door window is cracked, but it's flat glass and a new piece can be cut, meaning that you don't have to find an original window to replace it. The motor has been replaced with a 1946-1948 Dodge 230 (D24). Basically the same exact motor. The motor turns over freely and always has. I made sure there was oil in cylinders and would turn the motor over by hand every time I visited my father. The carb is the orginal Carter B&B made for the Gyromatic transmission, meaning that it has the electronic switch to kick down the trans into the lower gear when the pedal is pushed to the floor. It's missing the exhaust from the manifold back. Has the original radio, but I never tested to make sure it works. Has a rust hole in the inner fender under the battery box. Battery acid must have caused the rust and eaten a hole in the inner fender. The car is at my dad's house and I can make arrangements to show it.
