Vehicle Detail
I am selling a 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback. A little story of the car and where it came from... This car was purchased 13 yrs ago from its org owner by a young man of my neighboring county. The guy drove this car inside of a building and started restoring it. Soon after he started the restoration, he had a massive stroke and passed away. The car sat inside this building for the next 12 yrs untouched. A relative of mine who lives in the county where the car sat advised me of the car and stated that the owner's father was not planning on doing anything with the car and that he may sell it. I went to look at the car and talk with the older gentleman. The car was covered in sawdust where the older man done wood work in the building where the car was parked. He advised me that he had been thing of selling the car because he had no intentions of restoring it and the car was in his way. We settled on a price and I had the car hauled to my house where it is parked now. I have owned the car for a few months and with all of the other projects I have going on, I do not have time to do anything with it. Car is exactly like it was when I purchased it, even with the sawdust still on it. A few days after I purchased it I replaced the starter with a new one. I removed the carb, soaked it, and cleaned it. Checked all of the spark plugs, wires, fluids, and added fresh gas to the tank. The car fired up! I drove it around the yard a few times. Does not have brakes, pedal goes all the way to the floor. The exhaust was cut off by the tow guy who towed to my house. The brackets were broken and the pipes were dragging so he decided to just remove the exhaust. The transmission eases into reverse, neutral, and drive fine. The car is complete to my knowledge not missing anything. The interior looks to be complete. None of the knobs are missing. The front two seats has a little tear, the rear seat looks good, sail panels looks good, console is in good condition, door panels are good, and the top of the dash are like most...cracked. Appears someone replaced the dash with a Mach 1 dash because of the Mach 1 emblem on the pass side. All of the glass is still in the car and none are cracked or chipped. The door sills look good on the car as well as the doors themselves. The decklid looks solid on the outside but the inside has little rust. This is a very cheap item to replace new. The decklid frame is solid. Has the original spoiler on the deck. The rear tail light panel is not rusted out like most. Has all of the tail lights. The quarters have been repaired and primed by the previous owner. The front fenders are very solid and is primed on the top. Not rusted out like most on the bottom. The rocker panel on the driver's side is rusted pretty bad and will need to be replaced. Most of it is missing. The pass side rocker is very solid. The roof and behind the rear glass is very solid with no rust at all. The trunk pan and fuel tank is solid. The hood is the org factory hood with a minor dent in the very front. The rear frame where the springs connect is pretty rusted and will need to be replaced. The rear floor pan and driver's side is solid but, the pass side front floor pan will need to be replaced or patched. All panels on the car are org factory panels and has not been replaced with cheap, thin. aftermarket replacements. The engine is the org 351 Windsor with automatic trans that came in the car. Someone replaced the intake with an Edelbrock and the valve covers are Holley. Like I mentioned, the engine does run and the transmission does shift. Bring your car trailer and you can drive this car on the trailer. This car is a very restorable project and is a complete, running car. I have seen many on the internet with no interior, no engine or trans, no front clip, and just a complete rust bucket go for waayyyy more than they are worth..in my opinion. Again, this car is complete. I am not looking to make a lot of $ off this car. I would like to get my $ back out of it and pass it on to someone who can bring this car back to life. Car will be placed on other sites and locally today. I do not think this auction will run its full days before the car sells. If you are looking at this ad and reading this, you already know how hard fastback Mustangs are becoming to find and the value of them are beginning to go through the roof. If you would like to come see the car for yourself, please do so. I am located in Sylvania GA, between Savannah GA and Augusta GA. If you have any questions, you may call me at 912-425-9568. Adding this due to a lot of phone calls and text messages: The car is a factory power brakes and power steering car. It is not an a/c car. I do not have the title for this car. In Georgia any vehicle older than an 86 does not require a title. OR you may chose to apply for one yourself. Included with the sale is a Bill of Sale.
