Vehicle Detail

1953 WILLYS M38A1 USMC VERSION. Runs and drives great! Currently registered in California as an historical vehicle. I have owned this jeep for the past seven years and have all the paperwork for repairs that have been completed during that time, as well as repair manuals for the vehicle and engine. This jeep has been stored indoors for the last seven years. I have included photos of the one corrosion spot on the body (passenger side front floor area) as well as minor cosmetic blemishes (passenger side windshield hinge area). You can also see the hood alignment is not absolutely perfect. There are 1,058 miles on the rebuilt motor. This jeep has minor oil leaks from the front differential pinion seal and engine oil pan, as well as oil seapage from the transfer case. Of course with these old jeeps, if they aren't leaking, they aren't running. The gas gauge is currently inoperable and the voltage gauge is not hooked up. I simply do not have the time and energy any longer to fix these little items, because I work a lot of hours. The jeep still operates great, I just don't have the time to enjoy it. She stays in the garage most of the time and I drive her to work about once a week to keep the battery charged and fluids flowing. The 4x4 still works great and the tires still have over 9/32 tread remaining. I am always amazed at how capable of an off road vehicle this jeep is at over 50 years of age! She gets a lot of attention, and is a lot of fun to drive. The jeep can run at 35-40mph all day long, top speed is 50mph. This vehicle is in its stock configuration except for the electrical system which has been converted to a 12 volt system. This jeep was a USMC unit with the Marine Corps ordered rear bumper and the anti-corrosion under coating which is still visible in some spots on the body. I am including the GI helmet and ammo cans that are pictured, as well as a tow bar (not pictured). The vehicle is sold in AS-IS condition with NO WARRANTY. Buyer responsible for pick-up or shipping. Feel free to contact me with any questions. If you would like to see some videos of the jeep, contact me with your email address and I will send you the 3 videos I took recently.
