1986 Toyota Tercel 4x4 SR5 6spd manual transmission Driver/project car Approx 114k miles (currently driving every other day) Thus might have slightly more miles than pictured/indicated. I am the second owner, I’ve only owned for 6 months, recent trade at local Toyota dealer Green/silver color, several dents/dings. Worst l/r quarter. R/r quarter missing molding. Some rust on frt fender edges and bottom of l/r door. This was a city car, the original owner took good mechanical care of car but body is in average condition for age. The sliding roof is stuck shut, more than likely because of tree debris/dirt binding the track. The motor and switch are good. The sliding roof panel itself has some rust on it. R/R door is stuck shut, latch probably binding from never being opened. Both front head lamps are new. New frt Toyota wiper blades. Windshield looks newer. Comes with 2 sets of wheels. Pictured with staggered size 14 frt and 15 rr alloys, frt tires are brand new, rr better than 50%. Tires have the same rolling diameter (even though the sizes don’t match) allowing use of 4x4 without damage. Also have a set of 13 inch steel wheels (2 gray, 2 biege) with good tires that go with car. Interior is in good condition. Carpet ripped/hole on drivers foot area. Stain r/f foot area. Driver’s seat shows some wear. Recently installed Scion CD player,original speakers, front 2 working, rear don't seem to work. New blower motor resistor. Heat and A/C working. New Frt strut inserts and strut mounts. Both front axles are brand new with new axle seals. Wheel alignment done. Brake pads/shoes 50% or better, rotors and drums were cut. 1 drum is warped=brake pulsation. Rear shocks less than 1 year old. Exhuast looks to have been repaired several times, minor leakage and rusting. Muffler recent, welded on. Has new valve cover gasket and distributor oring. 3 New drive belts. New distributor cap/rotor, wireset and spark plugs. New fuel filter. Brand new custom weber carb with electric choke and adjustable fuel pressure regulator. The weber carb wakes this engine up. Some patience required starting cold temp. The egr system and other emissions systems are no longer hooked up. ATTENTION!! This may cause issue in certain states for emissions testing. In PA stickers are good until last day 2/2014. Some quirks not yet addressed include: The radiator is original and may eventually leak. There’s some usual oil leakage from engine, oil pan area. Even though it has new frt axle seals, some transaxle oil seepage at frt. In 4th gear on deceleration the shifter may pop out of gear if you don’t hold your hand on shifter. Shifts normally in all other gears otherwise, no noises or binding, clutch action is good. 4x4 works as does the extra low 1st gear. Driving over 60 mph there’s a vibration, possibly the front suspension bushings (swaybar) or the steering rack bushing. Car is fine under 60 mph. I’ve driven it over 1,500 miles, highway and city driving trying to work out the bugs. I have personally done the repairs mentioned, I am not a backyard mechanic. Included is the original aisin carburetor, emissions components, orig radio, other extra odd/ends. This a fun beat around car that is very functional being a 4x4 and a wagon. As I have spent much time repairing, this is by no means a modern vehicle. Someone looking to buy should be handy and understanding of it’s age and possible need for future tinkering. There are people on here asking much more for cars that may look pretty but who knows mechanically how decent they are. I am trying to give the buyer as much information here that I've learned to make this as fair a transaction as possible. Feel free to ask anything I haven't covered. want to inspect in person? I have driven vehicle on highways and for several hours at a time.. but again it is 27 years old, if you live more than a few hours away as with any older vehicle I'd suggest to flatbed or trailer it home.
