Vehicle Detail

1979 gmc van gypsy edition 350 engine 350 trans, factory black with original graphics from 79. Van has 86,000 original miles, runs and drives great, very tight. Have original build sheet. No A/C. Factory original wheels and center caps Factory bucket seats with factory swivel bases. Dash in excellent shape. Has wood paneled walls and roof from factory, no carpet, floor in back is almost flawless. Windshield excellent. New brakes and new belts. On Dec-20-13 at 19:38:04 PST, seller added the following information: revision: I have been asked if the engine will need a re-build soon and I do not know the answer to that. I do know that it runs really good and is tight feeling. It does leak a little and I believe that to be the rear main seal. It doesn't leak anywhere else, and the motor is clean and all original in the looks department. The original owner stopped driving it as a daily driver about 8 years ago when he became handicapped, he bought a handicap accessible van but kept this because it was his baby. He died about a year ago and it became his daughters, she sold it to me and I cleaned the tank, put new fuel lines on, changed the belts, thermostat and put a battery in it and drove it around locally to make sure it ran good, which it does. It has absolutely NO rust. In the picture the windshield wipers are off, it needs new blades and I did not want the windshield wipers to get turned on and scratch the windshield. I am a little anal and removed the cowl vent panel and cleaned and polished inside there. I also polished the underside of the hood. I do not know whether this van would drive across the country, based on the way it drives I don't see why it wouldn't. The tires that are on it are fine for around town, if driving across country you would want to put new ones on. I could have put new ones on but then the van would be more money and I might not have put the size you would have wanted on it. I intended for this to be a van that was exactly the way it was originally and let whomever purchased it to be able to make it the way they want it. I have 8 vans, it's a sickness! I have chosen to sell a few and this was one of them. I'm selling to fund the ones I currently have, not because there is anything wrong with this one other than giving it the TLC it deserves. The inserts on the seats are cloth material that is worn and dry rotted the vinyl on the other hand is still good, the seats and material are original. The seals around the doors need to be replaced they are worn. The van has never been wrecked and or painted on, other than the graphics that are on it and those where painted on in 1979 based on the signature of the guy who painted them (Haynes '79). The van is well worth the money that my reserve is at which is $2200.00. It is a great van that can be driven while you are customizing it if that's what you intend to do.
