Vehicle Detail
Standard transmission 195,000 km One owner before me (repair documentation all on hand right up until last week - including an inspection report from official Toronto Honda Garage) Body in great shape (car based in BC until a few months ago - no salt corrosion) Manual locks/windows CD Player, MP3 lead - can attach Ipod - good, updated soundsystem Ran inspection on car last week. Tires in great shape Rear brakes 65% Front brakes 30% Recently had to have the engine replaced after I ran out of oil when driving through rural Ontario, seizing the engine (yes, I am a tool). The mechanic replaced the engine with an automatic engine. That should be fine, because effectively there is no difference between an automatic and a standard engine. However, whichever mechanic worked on the car should have removed the throttle body and manifold from the replacement (automatic) engine and fixed the original t/body and manifold from the broken (standard) engine. Because he didn't, the idle is running high. This mechanic, frustratingly, is a 2,500 KM round trip away, so I am not able to drive it up there to sort it out - and I am moving to Vancouver at the end of this week, so just need to get rid of the car. Obviously, with idle running high, the market value of the car is reduced - but the car is actually in awesome shape, runs perfectly. Once you get it up to speed, the increased revs are indiscernable. The Honda garage here in Toronto told me to do nothing to it because other than the irritation of a high idle, all is fine. If I wasn't moving across the continent, I would have no interest in selling it. So, all in all, it's a good deal.
