Vehicle Detail
This K1200RS is a one owner motorcycle and has always been garaged. Never ridden in the rain. The engine has been fully tested and it runs smoothly. New plugs and new battery about 2 years ago. Liquid cooled 4-stroke inline 4-cylider. 130 bhp @ 8,750 rpm. Electronic fuel injection. ABS brakes. 6 speed manual transmission. Clutch is 165mm single dry plate, hydraulic assist. Clutch slips at high torque, but can be driven now (see condition description). Driveshaft. Tires are original (120/70ZR-17 in front,170/60ZR-17 in rear). Top speed over 124mph. Never been dropped while driven. There is an aftermarket rear seat cowling that I had custom painted to match the paint job. It is easily removable in about 15 seconds, but stays securely with magnetic straps at high speed. Additional comments based on many questions from ebayers. Yes, that is the true mileage. There are no luggage pieces. There are heated grips and cruise control. Yes it can be driven. If the buyer does not want the cowling, I would sell it separately. The cowling costs about $300 retail, and $250 to have it custom painted to match the bike. The clutch slippage was described by another ebayer with the exact same bike. The BMW dealership here in sacramento quoted $1000-1500 to repair the clutch. The indicated that it is probably a seal that is faulty, perhaps a main seal. They said most all of that is labor at $125 per hour. My thought was there may be a buyer who may be able to negotiate better labor cost somewhere else, or do-it-yourself. I am not a mechanic, nor do I have the time. Another ebayer commented to me that it is probably the main seal.
