2000 VW Passat 1.8L 20 Valve Turbo 184,000 miles with the engine rebuilt at 135,000 This means that the rebuild motor only has: 49,000 miles on it! The motor is great and that is the real selling point of the car. I've been getting an easy 30+mpg out of this drive train and I don't drive like grandma. If you are looking for a good and cheap motor for your Passat this is it. The body and transmission are not doing as well as the motor. There are rust spots, the front end is out of alignment and the transmission acts up when it gets hot. The car has one previous owner. I bought it last year with 174,500 miles on it. I've sunk more than $2000 into the car and I'd like to get some of that back if I can even if it is pennies on the dollar. A list of some of the work that I did to it: 1.
