Vehicle Detail
Listed here is a recent trade-in at our lot. This is a 1-owner 1979 Chevrolet Camaro, 305 V-8, with automatic trans. This car runs really well considering it had been sitting up for a year or so according to the original owners son. I have driven the car 20-30 miles personally to check it out as best I could before listing it here for sale. The car runs, drives and shifts very good and just as it should. The steering is very tight on the car with no shimmy or shakes and once you hit the brakes the car doesn't dart all over the road but instead holds a straight line making for straight and smooth braking. The A/C compressor is still on the car and the clutch is free, shouldn't take much to get cold A/c from it. The tilt steering wheel has the usual wobble typical of these year and make cars but is a very easy and simple fix. The speed odometer needle is missing but the odometer appears to be clocking the correct mileage. While driving the car there was a loud intermittent noise heard sounding like it was coming from either the speedo head or the speedo cable. The headlights, tai lights and even the door buzzer work, but I could not tell if the dash lights were working or not, if so they were very dim. Although the car seemed to run and drive well to me, I'm not sure I'd attempt a cross country journey in it. I would however not hesitate to jump in and drive it on a fairly local trip, 50-100 miles. The car seems to have been re painted at one time in its life and appears to be pretty close to the original camel color from the factory. There is some visible rust as seen in pics around the rear windshield on drivers side, small spot sized rust on each lower drivers front fender and another lower place or two on the body as seen in the pictures. The trunk appears fairly solid. There does appear to be some rust underneath the drivers rear floor pan that I tried my best to take a pic of. A little rust here and there to take care of, some paint and body work would make a very nice vintage Camaro. I do feel this could be a car that perhaps a Father and Son could drive around a bit while restoring. If interested now or if I can answer any further questions please call or text me anytime. Mike 205-368-2277. I'm selling with no reserve so please don't beat me up too bad guys! Thanks for looking and good luck
