Vehicle Detail
Recently resurrected from basket-case status. This bike was put together as a "driver", not a show bike. The pictures will attest to this. Bike has all original type equipment - some original as the bike was found, some NOS and some reproduction replacement. Everything works as it should with one exception - the headlight high beam indicator does not illuminate. It did when first assembled and tested but now does not. Bike runs well and hits on all three cylinders. Engine was not worked on - you are gettting it as I received it. Starts easy and performs well (for the 50+ miles I logged). Please review the pictures and ask questions prior to bidding. The paint is a base coat/clear coat finish. The engine side covers were given a little polishing to liven them up. The points cover is most definitely dented. The tires may need replaced based on your evaluation. The title is clear and in my name - it is noted as having an odometer discrepancy (mileage unknown). Again, please ask questions - I will respond as soon as practical. Cost and arrangement of shipping is the responsibilty of the buyer. Will ship out of Columbus Ohio area (zip code 43125). I will do what I can to assist with your shipper. On Nov-24-13 at 14:08:09 PST, seller added the following information:Recently asked how bad of a basket case and were there any problems with reassembly/afterward. Here's my reply so that if anyone else has the same or similar questions: Here's the complete story. I'm in Columbus Ohio and saw this for sale in Charlotte NC. The price wasn't bad, even allowing for the crappy mileage my Ford Ranger was going to give me. I drive down and the bike was as pictured - about 85% complete. It wasn't able to be started or run but I took a chance on it based on the cosmetics alone. I get it home and the carbs were given a quick cleaning and I set the timing and give it a shot - she lights off and fires on all three. Home run in my book. I then disassembled it to the frame and built it back up with the intention of having a driver. She needed a few things; I had some from my "collection" of parts, I sourced some through Suzuki and then there was Ebay. I painted everything myself so it is not a professional job by any means but should qualify as okay. The carbs got a second good cleaning in the ultrasonic cleaner. I installed a NOS throttle cable since the original was stiff. New points/condensors installed. Timing set with dial indicator. Replaced all of the intake boot and air cleaner clamps with NOS from Suzuki (including the large oval shaped one). Used set of mirrors I had, Used horn from Ebay. Handle grips are used ones I had. The front brakes are very fresh - rebuilt the master and the calipers. The disc pads were good to reuse. New hoses from master to calipers with new hard lines to calipers (this stuff came from Japanese supplier - not NOS but definitely newer). I'm sure I've forgotten some things but everything has been cleaned up and or replaced. I decided not to keep her based on the footprint she takes up in my garage. My next project will be a 1973 T500; smaller but still a two stroke. I can only hope it comes out as good as this one did. As I noted, I have put about 55 miles on the Buffalo and I have to be honest - she feels good. Only a few miles but everything performs well and no problems. I may still put a few more on it till it sells - based on the weather. Thanks.
