Vehicle Detail
I bought this 1931 Chevrolet coupe from an older gentleman that thought he would be able to finish the restore but after it sat in pieces since 1966 in a heated garage he finally realized at his age he wouldn't be able to. It came with many extra parts and a lot of work done. There are still Tupperware containers with extra parts and gaskets and extra carb and all the owners manuals and maintenance manuals. I hauled it home and my father spent the last 2 months going through everything and redoing the brakes and putting a bunch of new parts in it and doing a tuneup and new battery and starter and got it running great and driving great. The only thing this thing needs is the gas tank to be removed and the inside coated because its rusty inside from fuel being left in it so long and then just going through it one more time. We have put some miles on and had a blast. This car is incredibly original and incredibly rust free. The only rust we found was the front left fender inner part where bolts to frame so there is a replacement that goes with it that is rust free but eliminates the fender spare tire mount. I have all the bracketry for the spare tire mount also which is worth some money by itself if you opt to use the new fender. There are new bolts and hardware throughout on the fenders and bumpers. The patina is cool so you could keep it as is and have it look like a Dillinger escape vehicle or paint it and redo the seats and have a cool sunday driver. The 5 wheels were just powdercoated red and 4 new tires put on 2 months ago. Ive taken some pictures of the containers of parts but you would have to see them. The car is a solid original that I would call a barn find but it was a heated garage find. Title is free and clear and current Wisconsin title. I was planning on keeping this but my father and I found a 51 ford pickup project that involves a lot more horsepower so we are going to sacrifice the 31. Remember these are desirable and more rare than the fords because they have the straight 6 that would go 50 plus mph whereas the 4 cylinder in the fords barely went over 40mph. This is a purchase that should actually appreciate in value which is something that is hard to find these days. I live about 20 minutes north of Milwaukee and its easy to come look at and drive because my father is retired and did all the work. Im listing this at the coffee shop and forgot to take pics of mileage so I will add that shortly Email any questions and reserve is about half of what they normally do so bid away and have fun. Chad
