RESERVE LOWERED. 1978 Chevy Chevette 4 door hatchback sedan in original condition. This is the first year for the four door Chevette. This car runs and drives good. This is your chance to own a real survivor as there isn't many left in this condition with this low of miles. It was bought new at D&D Chevrolet. The original owner drove this car until she was 98 years old. This Chevette is in original condition with only 49709 miles and spent most of the time in the garage. It features the 1.6 litre overhead cam inline 4 cylinder with automatic transmission. Manual rack and pinion steering, manual brakes, disc front, drum rear. 155/80 R13 white sidewall tires, spare is 155/80 D13 bias ply original tire. Chrome bumpers with black rub strips. Body side moldings (passenger side front fender and door molding missing) Bright hubcaps with wheel trim rings. Dealer installed rust proofing. Drivers side sport remote control mirror. High Energy ignition. Day/night rear view mirror. Console. Sport steering wheel. Reclining front bucket seats. Camel sport plaid cloth seats. Cut pile carpet. Multi-function turn signal, two speed wiper/washer, high beam switch. Folding rear seat back. Factory am radio included, but was replaced with an OEM Delco AM/FM stereo radio with front and rear speaker. Cigarette lighter. Never been smoked in. Soft Ray tinted windows. Documentation includes the dealer window sticker, sales invoice, owner's manual and service book, and original Iowa license plates. Car is in original condition and runs and drives good. It has some scratches and dings that are highlighted in the pictures. Drivers seat has a wear spot and passenger carpet has a wear spot. Door panels are lightly faded. I have replaced the battery, radiator, heater core, alternator belt, coil, and exhaust from the catalytic convertor back. This would be an easy car to restore or leave original and add to a collection. I have enjoyed driving this car in parades and showing it in car shows. This car is 35 years old and has no warranty and is sold as is. Full payment required by cashiers check within seven days of auction end.
