Exceptionally clean, fuel-efficient vehicle that is one of the most reliable economy cars built in 1997. Consumer Reports has given all of its systems and components excellent reliability ratings. It has relatively low mileage (140,450) for a car of its age, and these vehicles are known to run and run and run. 300,000 miles or more is not improbable; it's quite possible. The car handles nicely and is a comfortable ride. It gets about 32 mpg on the highway. The interior is pretty much spotless. If you're looking for an extremely reliable used car at a very affordable price, this is it. There are some minor dings and one or two minor rust spots, but overall the body is in good shape. It needs two new tires and some exhaust work, and is missing one wheel cover. Also, there is a small burn mark on the front passenger seat. One side of the plastic spoiler below the front bumper is slightly crumpled from hitting a curb, but it's not too noticeable. I have factored the necessary repairs -- tires and exhaust work -- into the buy it now price. Kelly Blue Book puts the value of a 1997 Corolla that's in fair condition at $1,767 and a Corolla in good condition at $2,167. This vehicle is probably closer to good than fair condition, but because of the needed repairs, I'm basing my buy it now price on it being in fair condition. For the money, you're getting a lot of bang for the buck for the buy it now price.
