1970 Jaguar E-Type Roadster 4.2 Litre, Series II One owner since 8/3/1980 Unmodified engine and body Interior professionally redone: Mid-90's (sills and door) in Jaguar Connelly leather; seats redone immediately after purchase – look like new 66,095 miles Engine is in immaculate condition Detailed very close to original, decals, color etc High grade fuel has been used and dual carbs were rebuilt; new ignition coil Tires are very good tread w/wire chrome wheels Repainted five years ago. Completed stripped of old paint, base-coated, color coat applied with high grade clear coat - shine is gorgeous. Paint is excellent. (All rubber: body, doors, bonnet were replaced new.) There is no rust; there are no dents in the body - after thirty-three years, I know the car. Always garaged Chrome was redone - everywhere, during a near full cosmetic restoration Still has great acceleration Chrome exhaust and tailpipe Wood steering wheel (just redone) Updated CD player w/five speakers No history on engine or trans issues; dash and ignition switch needed replacement; alternator replaced; parking brake required adjustment; brakes redone; minor clutch work; and normal routine maintenance and service. In as much as any buyer wishes to get a great price, unless you intend to “flip” the car for a quick sale, classics rise in value over the years. XKE's are not different ! Whatever you pay today, you will sell classic cars for greater, “tomorrow.” But you need to own one. Was voted best of local shows the two times it was entered. Those websites should make e-Bay buyers more aware, since e-Bay does not set classic car value, throughout the entire world. Appreciate the bids from everyone, but I can't give this car away. You are buying a classic sports car where value increases over time - so it also becomes an increasing investment.
