Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE You are bidding on a 1978 Jeep CJ7 with an AMC 258 (4.2 Liter) inline 6. I am selling the Jeep because I intended to use it as a daily driver for my short commute to and from work (8 miles), but since going back to school, I’m now driving about 60 miles a day. I also bought it so I would have something to tinker with, but I have no time for that any more either. The Jeep runs well and starts right up. 4WD works great! The carb will probably need to be tuned based on where you live. I have only owned it for about 4 months, and I hate to see it go. When I got it, I did an oil change, changed the gear oil, put on a new air and fuel filters, replaced the PCV valve, and some other general maintenance. The Story: I purchased the Jeep from a guy in Idaho, and he told me he bought it from a friend of his and knew of it being there for 10-15 years prior to him owning it. It’s been garaged almost 100% of the time since being restored, and it shows. Since it was in Idaho from the time it was restored, there is almost no rust. The only rust I’ve come across is in the rear quarter panels, and even that’s just surface rust. There is a tiny but of surface rust on the door hinges and where the hood meets the fenders, but nothing serious. It’s hard to find a CJ with so little rust. I was told that the Jeep was used mainly to cruise around the mountains in their town in Idaho. The odometer reads 46K miles. The previous owner did not know where that number came from, but I believe that’s when it was restored based on the wear and weathering of the components. The odometer DOES function correctly. It’s a 35-year-old car now; a lot of “the story” gets lost in that time. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have, and I will answer honestly and to the best of my knowledge. I will be including the Bikini top, Hardtop and original doors!!! This car is registered in Arizona because it WILL NOT pass a California Smog Test. There is NO Smog equipment left on the car. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS BEFORE BIDDING.
