Vehicle Detail
1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4x4 VIN: 1J4GS5875KP103880 $500 Toward Shipping ANYWHERE I’m often asked where we find these clean, unique vehicles. One of my best employees cruises parking lots of retirement homes, Elks clubs, the V.F.W. Halls and the back streets of a well-known Scandinavian neighborhood here in north Seattle. He can spot a seatbelt slammed in a door a mile away… He’ll notice when a nice old car or truck is driving with a turn signal on just a little too long and he positively twitches with glee when a vehicle with metal bumpers passes by! If you’re in the market for a great driving, accident-free vintage SUV please give this bone-stock Grand Wagoneer your kind attention. Feel free to contact me with questions or to discuss a sale before the end of the Ebay auction listing. My name is Mark Thompson and I can be reached directly at 206/914-1173. I will pay/credit the purchaser $500 toward shipping fees worldwide or your own transportation costs if you arrive here to drive the Jeep home. CONDITION: The photos really tell the Grand Wagoneer’s story. It was purchased new here in the Great Pacific Northwest and has spent its entire life driving our salt-free western Washington roads. From the photos you’ll see the rig has obviously been well cared for over the years. We’ve found absolutely NO evidence of any accidents, body or storm damage, insurance salvage, theft recovery, repossession or any other nasty negatives to cause you concern as the lucky new driver! I take great pride in our vehicles and feel that you should know as much about them as possible. Accordingly, here’s a list of the good and also any small things possibly needing attention: The four wheel drive system works just as it should. With a flip of a switch the drive train goes to full 4x4 mode, so most of the time you’ll be in 2WD and not wearing out the strong Dana front drive components during summertime highway use. The overall exterior is in very good condition. This rig still wears the original factory off-white paint and it holds a shine well with no breakdown of the clearcoat (a very common issue on these rigs). Rust? Well, this classic Jeep HATES rust and you’d be hard pressed to find ANY to worry about here! Because we rarely get snow in the Puget Sound Basin, our winter roads are almost never salted. The engine compartment is clean. Climb over, under and throughout - I know you’ll come up smiling! One turn of the key and the strong 360 CID V8 fires right up with just a few pumps of the gas pedal. It’s been upgraded with an Edelbrock RPM Air Ram hi-rise manifold and an Edelbrock 650 CFM Performance carboratour. The three-speed automatic transmission is original and shifts smoothly, just like it should, with NO slippage. There’s a tilt steering column, power windows (all work, including the tailgate glass, but can be a bit slow), air conditioning and power steering. I believe every Grand Wagoneer came with power front disk brakes in 1989 and these work just fine with no pulling or binding. All four factory alloy wheels are wrapped with top line 235/75R15 Cooper Discover T/A radials with plenty of remaining tread. It really is a blast to drive anywhere you’d wish to go! Please take another look at the interior shots. The upholstery is unfaded and sound on the both the front leather and fabric panels. Same goes for the rear bench seat. There are NO cracks in the dash cover. The headliner is just about perfect and has the over-head console option. The matching original burgundy carpets are in very decent, clean condition including the rear cargo area and on the fold-down rear door. I’ll be sure to include the factory floor mats you see pictured as well. All of the door panels have stood the test of time and are in excellent condition. You’ll be quite impressed with the dash gauges. They’re still as clear and bright as the day this rig left the dealership 24 years ago! If you’re thinking of bidding on a comparable Chevy Suburban or Ford Bronco of similar vintage, you really owe it to yourself to drive and look this unique piece over first! About the only negatives I can think to point out are two small bullseye chips on the windshield, cracked glass on the passenger’s door mirror and some exhaust manifold leakage that gives the exhaust a nice throaty rumble - supported by a newer flowmaster muffler system. I will also include a new, boxed heater core as the present one has been bypassed. PLEASE BID WITH CONFIDENCE and know that you are purchasing a very nice car from a respected Ebay seller. I want you to be happy with your purchase (and with me) and that’s the main goal! Please don’t be upset by a missed flaw or some unforeseen problem! No vintage used vehicle is ever perfect. Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle, we require that Ebay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions call or email before placing a bid. If I don’t have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled. As I’ve outlined above, the phone number to talk directly to me is 206/914-1173. Please feel free to call any time during the auction. My name is MARK THOMPSON. You’re welcome and encouraged to come by my Auburn, WA warehouse to inspect & drive the Wagoneer. You might also make an offer as many of my vehicles sell to smart “early birds” that call and work out a deal prior to the auction’s end. I always reserve the right to sell during this period. A Few Additional Terms and Conditions: A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s conclusion. The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven business days unless prior arrangements have been made with me. I can accept PAYPAL, but if you plan to pay any more than the deposit through them I’ll first need to invoice you and ask that you cover the 3.5% fee PayPal charges. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You’re not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the vehicle later -- You’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends. If you decide to have the Jeep transported home, there are scores of companies to choose from. I ship vehicles regularly and suggest that you get a transport bid from Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS). They're EBay’s preferred transporter and will give you a fair quote. Call my designated rep, Janice, directly at (469)587-5096. Give her my affiliate number (2362642) and she can pull up all our information for station-to-station or even door-to-door quotes. As an alternative, you might also get bids from the U-Ship.com website. You’ll be able to choose a transport broker from multiple offers. The zip code for pick-up would be 98002 (Auburn, Washington). The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER. The car can be stored free of charge at my location for up to two weeks after the auction ends assuming full payment has been received. After that period storage is $20 per day. The vehicle is being sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. All information described above is based on the observed condition when the listing was placed. I've done my very best to describe the Grand Wagoneer as honestly as possible and encourage bidders to contact me with questions.
