Vehicle Detail

Hi guys, Up for sale is my period correct 1965 Cal-Look Volkswagon. I originally purchased this car almost 15 years ago. It has been garaged ever since The car is a original California car with it's original black plates. The car had it's original 1200 cc stock motor in it when purchased. The original owner ran it low on oil and spun a bearing. I removed the original motor and trans and they will be included with the car upon sale. Pan is solid, also around the battery box. The body is all original from what I have gathered and can tell. The dash is beautiful, with no cutting or holes drilled anywhere! Very clean. I mounted the tach through the windshield wiper hole and moved that knob into the glove box. So you can remove the tach if so desired and put the windshield wiper knob back in it's original location. No harm no fowl! The carpet is original and needs replacing. The door panels are original and are in great shape for almost 50 years old! The seats have no tears and are the original basket weave grey material. All door handles and knobs are original and in tact! Everything works, but the wiper motors will need to be converted over to 12 volt. Everything else has been done. I never bothered with the wipers, as it rarely rains here in So. Cal. and the car has not been a daily driver. The electrical is in superb condition, and never hacked on or molested. Very clean! Like I stated, it all works, even the horn! Inside dome light works, all blinkers, running lights, turn signals etc. I am a 47 year old adult, and 8 years ago built a 2165 motor for the car. There is NO CHINESE JUNK in this motor. All German/American parts. The motor has about 900 miles on it. It gets taken out on Sundays once a month at best. I am a engineer by trade, and am meticulous when working on machinery. So, here are the specs on motor: I have ALL THE RECEIPTS AS WELL. 1. Cb Performance new Germanor brazilian case. Full flowed, welded, bored, clearanced, lifter bores sleeved etc etc. Over 1000.00 now to purchase. 2. Pauter machine 78 mm German crankshaft. Hand welded and stroked by Pauter Machine in Chula Vista, Ca. No junk here. Good luck ever finding one of these! Too much machine work and cost prohibitive. A beautiful crank! I have pics and receipts. 3. Pauter camshaft with straight cut magnum cam gears. 268 intake/exhaust 550 lift at valve. 4. Scat rods with ARP 2000 bolts 5. Mahle pistons/cylinders. cross hatch honed at Gene Berg. Total seal rings 6. All Kolbyshmidt German bearings 7. All parts balanced at Gene Berg 8. Gene Berg Oil pump/ oil pump cover 9. Gene Berg push rods, push rod tubes 10. Gene Berg full flow kit w/ fram filter 11. Gene Berg sump with brazed pick up tube extension. 12. Gene Berg cow magnet installed on pick up tube 13. Gene Berg pulley 14. Gene Berg Gland nut. 15 Gene Berg welded and balanced fan 16. Gene Berg old school oil breather box. Works slick! 17 Mallory Unilite Dist. w/ optical sensor 18 Mallory voltage spike filter box 19. Steve Tims Stage 2 special port heads. These where NEW heads, made by VW in Mexico.. Special ports, 42x37.7 valves. 5 angle valve job. dual springs, and blend ported matched big beef manifolds. 20. Dual 48 DRLA Dellorto's. In excellent condition. With CB Performance linkage. 40 mm venturis 21. Gene Berg close ratio locking shifter w/ custom handle 700.00! 22. All German doghouse tin with hoover bit installed. 23. Electric carter fuel pump with regulator 24. Cb Performance 1.4 rockers 25. Cb Performance 2 piece lifters 26 German VW valve covers modified at Berg, 27 New battery 6 months old. 28. Gene Berg Trans mid mount brace 29. Gene Berg traction bar. 30. Kennedy Stage 1 clutch and lightened flywheel. 31. 1 5/8 merged header 32. Old school S&S dual quiet packs w/ Chrome tips! And I am sure I left things out. Not to mention 100's of hours of labor, machine work, parts chasing, researching, etc etc. This motor runs superb and idles at 850-900 rpm. Runs very cool and can be driven anywhere. 9.0-1 compression ratio. Runs excellent on premium octane gasoline. Motor sounds great, and romping on it brings our a massive roar from this little beast. Built right the first time. Never raced or abused. The Transmission is built by KCR in Riverside, Ca. Close ratio 1st 2nd 3rd and standard 4th for freeway driving. Gusseted case, hardened keys, forks, larger gears etc etc. Shifts beautifully. Front end is brand new. Cb Perofmrance 2 inch narrowed beam. New Dropped spindles as well as torsion bars, drilled and slotted disk brakes. Standard track front end with disk brakes. 3/4 inch front sway bar. Special model that tucks up under the front end. New MTX front alloys from Europe with new 145 tires. Rears are 7.5 inch American Racing alloys with 205 65 15 Goodyear Eagle GT tires. Probably 70 percent read life left on them. The car handles excellent for a swing axle VW. Rides exceptionally well with Bilstein shocks on the rear and KYB G2 gas shocks on the front. I also have the original VW key that works both the ignition and door locks. What else comes with the car? I have a LM! AF computer/meter you can have, and various other parts as well as original motor and trans. You the buyer will be responsible for shipping. Once the car leaves my presence I am no longer responsible. INSURE ACCORDINGLY! I will assist with shipping if needed. I Would even love to see the car go to Japan too. May take a cash/ original Samurai Sword trade. Must be from a dynasty, with all correct markings etc.17-1800's. This car is solid and will make a great cal look car for decades to come. Good luck bidding and feel free to ask all questions beforehand. 500.00 deposit required within 24 hours of winning bidder. My feedback speaks for itself..... UPDATE: I do have the cars original Bosch jack that came with the car. You will need to purchase a spare tire/rim however.
