This 65 Ford Mustang was build with long distance travel in mind. A lot of emphases was spent on engine cooling. We went with an aluminum champion radiator with an aluminum overflow tank with a 5 blade flex fan and 190 degree thermostat . Keeping RPM's low we added a borge warner T5. Cruse at 80 MPH at only 1200 RPM'S. " GREAT " . This 65 won best pony car at the Larz Anderson Museum in Boston MA. The only time the car was ever shown. All receipt for the build will be included. BODY Rust free " naturally " Ford poppy red with Ford Wimbledon white painted lemans stripe. Stripes are to correct specifications as the original Shelby GT 500. This 65 boosts the Shelby style ram air hood ( fiberglass) with functional heat extractor, definitely keeping the engine bay cool on those cross country trips. The hood also has the Shelby style hood pins with the secure cable, in additional to the factory hood latch. Also the Shelby style front valance was installed, this dump tons of air right onto the radiator. " COOL".We completing the Shelby look by adding the E2 Shelby style side scoops with the chrome vent inserts. The side view mirrors are Shelby type chrome bullet. ( the original hood, Instrument cluster, Autolite 650 cfm carb and all original equipment are included. INTERIOR Black leather interior with hump huger center console. Auto Meter 6 gauge instrument cluster. Three point seat belt harness, with lap belt for passenger. Black molded door panel with aluminum inserts. Hurst TRI-AX billet shifter. FOMOCO padded dash pad. New carpet and head liner. Engine Ford 289 non matching number engine. This engine is very special: In 1968 ford Winsor plant ran out of 289 blocks.to complete assembly they used the new generation 302 block with 289 internals . this is a very STRONG engine with thick cylinder walls included with the FOMO intake with rear water passages "COOL" MSD 6A ignition with MSD 8582 distributer and MSD Blaster SS coil. Induction is an Edelbrook 500 CFM everbrite carb. 28.2 OZ vibration damper. T5 Manuel gearbox with new hurst short throw shifter. RAM heavy duty clutch and 157 tooth billet aluminum 28.2 OZ flywheel . New throw out bearing. T5 conversion kit with new custom build driveshaft. Ford 8.8 in rear end. Suspension All new front and rear suspension, too much to list, ill try. Upper control arms, new ford Granada spindle package, drilled and slotted rotors, new sprigs / seats, ball joints, sway bar,all new linkages, idler arm, pitman arm, Shelby quick steer kit. Rear has 5 leaf performance springs. Gas shocks all around. Stereo USA 630A factory style radio with CD controller. I pod interface. USB adapter. MP3 adapter. 6 channel pre- out connects to JL audio 300/4V2 amp. this runs a pair of BA 6.9 coaxial in the rear. BA 6" in the front kick panel. and two 4" in the dash factory location. Hifonics Zeus ZXi80.4 full range amp handling two 6" pile midrange "OVERKILL" . Two powered bazoka 8" subwofer behind rear seats. Professionally installed installed using all monster cable. No expense spared, looking in you will only see a factory head unit and a pair of 6X9 's in the rear deck.
