Otherwise known as a COPO, this is one of those cars. With a paint code of "SPEC" (special) it is not clear if these few cars were sold in primer and painted at the selling Dealer or came with factory paint. Either way they are indeed rare. I purchased this car from the previous owner as an unfinished restoration. After many dollars and hard work it is now complete. SHORT DESCRIPTION Driven less than 1000 miles since complete nut and bolt frame up restoration. From the no hit body and the virgin floors to the perfect no rust frame and bird cage, this is truly one of a kind. Factory equipped with trim code 404 leather interior, paint code SPEC, power steering, power brakes, power windows, automatic trans, factory a/c, tilt & telescopic wheel, and the fire breathing 454 engine. INDEPTH DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICS TRIM TAG READS CHEVROLET K19 TRIM 404 SPEC PAINT BUILD DATE- JUNE 19 TRIM- LEATHER INTERIOR SPECIAL-PAINT (see pics) A VERY LONG LIST of BRAND NEW parts includes: ENGINE AND RUNNING GEAR Complete engine rebuild: NEW rods, pistons, rings, crankshaft, rod and main bearings, camshaft (cam spec card included), lifters, push rods, rockers, cam bearings, freeze plugs, oil pump, fuel pump, .040 overbore, align honed, complete valve job, harmonic balancer, distributor, 6 AL box, plugs and wires, and carburetor rebuilt. Rotating assembly was balanced and engine runs perfectly and very smooth with very impressive power. NEW starter, battery, and cables NEW 4 core radiator, water pump and hoses. NEW a/c condenser and compressor rebuilt VIR unit and updated to R134 refrigerant. NEW flywheel, torque converter, and complete transmission overhaul. NEW master cylinder, booster, all 4 calipers, 4 rotors, lines and hoses, 4 backing plates, and emergency brake shoes All NEW power steering components, upper and lower control arms, bushings, ball joints, coil springs, spindles, wheel bearings, shocks, idler arm, tie rods, and drag link. NEW rear swing arms, bushings, bearings, seals, stub shafts, u-joints, radius arms, leaf spring, shocks, rear differential was completely rebuilt and all mounting brackets and bushings replaced New driveshaft u-joints and balance NEW complete exhaust system with 2 ½” pipe and flowmasters, sounds fantastic INTERIOR NEW leather seat upholstery and buns, complete carpet with sound proofing, deluxe door panels, all weather strips and seals, and seat belt retractors rebuilt PAINT AND BODY Paint is very nice with very few blemishes but is showing some age. I would classify it as a 3 footer and/or very good driver quality. The body is very straight and solid with good panel fitment. The doors and hood close with a good solid sound with no rattles. On a 10 scale mechanically it is a 10 and paint and body would be a strong 8. Tires are new BFG’s 235-60x15 with new 8” rally wheels, trim rings, and caps There is NO rust on frame, birdcage, or anywhere. Precision computerized 4 wheel alignment was performed within the past 2 months. Speedometer reads 857 miles and that is correct mileage on all new parts except the engine. It has 28 miles and counting. Car starts, runs, and drives like new. It has no rattles, squeaks, or wind noise no matter the speed. It drives straight and true and stops the same way. The transmission shifts smooth but firm and the engine has an abundance of power Everything works as new. The choke and fast idle, All lights and signaling devices including the horn and headlight doors, all gauges including the clock, dash lights, interior lights, wipers and washers, power windows, parking brake and warning light, door ajar and seat belt light, even the back-up lights and key buzzer. The heater control changes from a/c to heat, defrost, and vent as it should and all blower speeds function. The heater is hot and the a/c is ice cold. Car is well sorted and detailed top to bottom WHAT DOES IT NEED? In a word…nothing. It is ready to go just as it sits. To make a perfect show car it would need paint and rear bumpers. There is a blemish, a crack caused by an errant shopping cart, on the right front fender clearly shown in the pictures that you cannot see until you’re within 2 feet of it and looking for it. There are some tiny bubbles on the front part of the hood that are so small they will not show in the pictures. The rear bumpers are very solid and not pealing but show age. I know the difference between a pristine trailered show car and a bucket of tin and I have no use for either. If I could not drive and enjoy my cars they have no value to me and I do not own junk.
