Vehicle Detail

If you are a fanatic for rare, low production bikes. If you understand the value of remarkably well preserved original examples over shiny restorations this is a bike worth considering. It is #21 of 138 Rickman Enfields produced by Rickman. Unlike all the other street Metisses that were sold in kit form, this was built at the Rickman facility when the opportunity for Rickman to buy the last 200 Enfield Interceptor II motors when Floyd Clymer passed away before taking delivery of the order for his Indian Enfield project. The only place to purchase a Rickman Enfield was through Elite Motors in London who was the sole distributor. This bike was purchased through them and shipped to Boston via Air Freight. I have amazing documentation that includes the original bill of sale and shipping documents but also includes correspondence regarding a European delivery fly and ride that never worked out for the original buyer. The bike has traded hands just four times and each owner understood the uniqueness and rarity of it and cared for it properly. The owner before me kept it 30 years and was 80 years old when I bought it. It had not run in many years so I went through all the proper steps to bring a bike out of moth balls and resurrect it. Oils were changed, valves adjusted, carbs cleaned, brake calipers and master cylinders both were rebuilt. Only two small items required re-nickel plating to meet the standards of the rest of the bike. I disassembled the bike and cleaned it to it's current state. I replaced the decals with the correct water slide transfers not the dry rub most people settle for. I added new Dunlop K81 tires as were on it when new for safety reasons. As seen in the photos, the previous owner was so fanatical with the bike that he searched out spare NOS body work and a NOS seat. I replaced the battery and keep it on a trickle charger. It is, in my estimation, the best, lowest mileage at just 1789 original miles form new, and most well preserved of the hand full that still exist. I sold a Vincent Rapide that I restored and this took it's place in my small collection. This is a reluctant sale due to the purchase of a new house but family comes before toys. It is unlikely that I will end the auction early but if you don't like the EBay process and have to make an offer I can't refuse I'm all ears. I can deliver the bike to Barber Vintage Festival the weekend of Oct 11th and 12th but bike has to be paid for in advance or at least a substantial deposit. If I have misrepresented it you will be refunded every penny you have paid me. Rarely do I let a bike go and have never had a complaint from a buyer. Go back far enough in my feedback and the last two buyers said bike exceeded their expectations. I am capable to take it to Forward Air for placement in their steel shipping crates but you must arrange and pay for that service. I'll ship world wide but funds must be wired in full before the bike leaves. Clear title in my name in hand. The only method of payment is wire funds transfer unless you want to pay cash at pick up in person. ********Since I can't imagine buying an expensive toy through email, I suggest you take the time to call me with real questions. Leave me a message on my cell and I'll call you back ASAP. If you don't hear back soon send your phone number through Ebay questions and I promise I won't post it in replies.********* 828-713-1782
