1972 Datsun 510 This is an all original Datsun 510 in excellent condition. I am the second owner of this beautiful car. Its got very low mileage on it and has barely been driven since new. The original owner was a Datsun collector and had been collecting them since 1970, when I purchased this car he owned eight but due to his failing health he was forced to sell them all. You will be hard pressed to find a 510 still in this condition that is unmolested, unmodified, and all original! I have been to many Datsun shows, meets, and other types of events and I've never seen one in this condition! This would make the perfect car to restore to absolute perfection because of its excellent original factory condition! The engine starts right up and runs very well without smoking, leaking, or using oil. The carburetor has been recently rebuilt, and all the fuel hoses have also been replaced. The fuel tank was removed, flushed, cleaned, resealed, and reinstalled. The spark plugs are the factory spec NGK plugs, the spark plug wires, cap and rotor were also recently replaced. A new water pump, belts, and hoses were also installed, all the parts replaced were the original Datsun parts. The transmission works well, clutch engages as it should and no grinds of any kind. The car also has a recently replaced clutch master cylinder. The suspension in the car is completely original and untouched. The front brakes are in good condition, the rear shoes have been recently replaced. I had a new brake master cylinder and brake hoses installed, the others were original from 1972 and were showing signs of wear. The tires are new and have very little miles on them. The body of the car is EXTREMELY straight, it does have a couple very minor door dings but thats to be expected. The car does not have the typical rust on it like all the other Datsuns this year have. It does have surface rust on some spots underneath and on the front valence from rock chips but absolutely no serious damage. The only part that has slightly more than surface rust is a very small part below the rear window that I have taken a close up picture of. All of the glass on the car is original and in good condition. The windshield has a small bullseye but its been there for over 30 years so I don't think its spreading anytime soon. The doors open and close very well and all the windows open as they should. This car does not have any performance modifications, the only parts that are not original are the tail lights. The tail lights are the very difficult to find European ones which are in excellent condition. The interior is in good condition, the seats have been reupholstered. The door panels are original along with the ORIGINAL UNCRACKED dash pad! The car has the extremely rare factory cluster with the built in tachometer and all the gauges have the red needles. The speedometer, tachometer, temperature, and gas gauges all work. The headliner is original and in good condition. The car has the original Pioneer AM/FM radio but it does not work unfortunately. All of the lights, blinkers, etc work well. Please contact me with any questions that you may have, either through email or the number below. I am not looking for trades or payments, this is a no reserve auction which means the highest bidder will be owning this beautiful piece of history! Vehicle must be paid for within 3 days of auctions end, no exceptions. If you do not have your funds in order do not bid! I will not accept personal checks for any reason, if you are paying with a cashiers check I will go to the bank and verify the funds before you take delivery of the vehicle. I can store this for a short period of time so that your transport company has time to pick it up. Longer storage is also an option but you will need to speak to me about it first. If you are within a few hundred miles of Chico I can also deliver it for a fee but car will need to be paid for in full before it leaves Chico.
