Vehicle Detail
This is a nice driving 1958 Chevy Brookwood Station Wagon. It has a 350 in it along with a 350 Turbo. The body itself is believed to have only 69K original miles on it which is documented on the clear Pennsylvania title. It has factory power steering and standard drum brakes that have been rebuilt and replaced, the master cylinder was replaced with a dual bowl master. The emergency brake is good and works. The car runs and drives good, is currently PA inspected until next year and I believe could be driven anywhere. Drivetrain; is a early 70's 350 supposedly rebuilt approximately 26K miles ago along with the tranny, It has the stock electronic ignition, chrome valve covers, air cleaner, newer Aluminum intake manifold with a Edlebrock 4 bbl with electronic choke. It has had the original generator rebuilt and it works fine. It still has the original power steering pump mounted on it. The radiator was redone and works good. Transmission is a stock 350 turbo and it has the original rear end in it. (Not sure of the ratio). The rear has a slight whine when accelerating but nothing severe. Body; It has had the eyebrows repaired at sometime along with the rockers, lower doors and quarters. It has the original floors and braces in it with very few minor repairs (see pic's). The hood has been louvered and has had the inner reinforcement re-installed in it. The door handles have been removed and door popper buttons were installed on the car for the front doors only. (currently has no remote openers) All of the stainless is in nice shape and not all beat up. The bumpers are original and not bad but the center section on the front was painted chrome and there are scratches and minor pits on both. The glass is all good and rolls up and down as meant to. The paint is pretty good and the car looks good. The inner tailgate is good and it opens and closes as it should. The spare tire well is original and very clean and detailed. The lift handle for the rear window was eliminated and 2 led's were installed and work as 3rd brake and turn signal indicators. The inner fenders are in great shape. Someone touched up a couple of spots on the left front fender on the inside edge by the hood, front edge of R/F fender and on the tailgate. They were painted (possibly sprayed) and do not match exactly. (see pic's) Wheels/ Tires- New after market 15" GM style rally wheels with trim rings and centers. 15 X 8 in the rear with a 5" back space and 15 X 7's on the front. The rear has 225/75/15 tires and the front has 215/75/15 on it. The rear were new this year and the fronts are in good shape. Interior; The seats have been redone but the rest of the interior appears to be original including the headliner. The carpet is in good condition and the kick panels are decent. The drivers side air vent is connected and operable. The heater motor works when hot wired but there is nothing hooked to the dash control panel. The heater core is hooked up and operable but again is disconnected. The original radio lights up but doesn't do anything. All of the dash lights, OEM lighter, horn, generator light, oil light, turn signal indicators, high beam indicators all work. The wipers recently quit working and I believe it may be the motor. I may get it repaired but lets leave it at they don't work. The speedometer works but fluxuates as they all do. I put a new sending unit in the fuel tank and it works pretty good and also fixed the temperature gauge and it works good and runs cool. The rear seat folds down and works as it should. It has an Kenwood A/M F/M C/D with remote mounted under the dash. There is a power antenna installed and works with a toggle switch. The wind lace on the front doors has section that are bad. (Black fuzzy dice and front license plate Not included) Suspension; looks pretty original from what I can see. The front end is tight, coil springs are not busted up. Has a spacer in the right rear one but not sure why. The rear end wish bone is good. It could use new bushings on the rear end side as it is worn but is not rusted. It has factory power steering that works and does drip when it is parked. It has dual exhaust on the original manifolds ran out the rear of the car with chrome tips on it and has older cherry bombs on it. Overall all this is just a fun driver. It looks good at shows and cruises but is driven daily to work etc weather permitting. No the car isn't perfect, yes depending on how you look at it you can see where things were previously repaired or body work done but its a fun driver that gets attention. A lot of the things here are minor but I like to mention everything so there are no issues. I have sold very successfully on here before.
