Vehicle Detail
I bought this 1965 Coupe 3 years ago as an anniversary gift for my wife. I have since also purchased a 68 Coupe. Now she wants a 65-66 Fastback, so I am selling both of my Coupes to buy her a Fastback. This car is EXTREMELY solid. No rust anywhere. Beautiful metallic black paint job on it. Body is straight. Panels need final alignment, but the body is in great shape. One minor dent on the trunk lid, less than the size of a quarter, everything else on it is excellent. Interior is in great shape. No rips in the upholstery. Carpet is brand new. Car comes with a rebuilt 289 and C4 transmission from a 67 Mustang. Rebuild has less than 2000 miles on it. Runs extremely healthy and shifts beautifully. The motor in the pictures is NOT the rebuilt motor. It is the tired one I pulled from it. I just wanted to include a photo to show the condition of the engine bay. Car is basically waiting for final assembly. Was originally a 6 Cylinder. Has an 8" rear end now with 5 lug. I was going to buy a disc brake conversion for the front for $600 and get the five lug fronts. Never got around to it. Basically needs the front converted, the motor and trans dropped in, and it's ready to go. The paintjob was done RIGHT before I got it. Not all bondoed up. Excellent paint job. I am looking to swap both this 65, and a running, driving, red 68 coupe both for a decent 65-66 fastback. Car is for sale locally also. I reserve the right to end the auction early. On Jul-30-13 at 18:49:37 PDT, seller added the following information: While taking a few additional photos tonight, I noticed a TINY split in the seam of the seat back on the driver's seat. DEFINITELY repairable, and TINY. But it is there. Also all the exterior window trim and stuff is in the trunk, as well as a few additional parts and wiring and stuff. I just want to reiterate, this car is not perfect. It's an excellent start. The paint will buff out and shine beautifully. Have had a lot of questions about panel alignment and stuff. The panels all are painted and everything and are straight and not all bondoed up. But they do need their final alignment. Thanks for all the questions and interest.
