Vehicle Detail

Make no mistake, this 1950 3100 Chevy truck (216 engine) is not a ‘show’ truck—it’s been upgraded/enhanced greatly to be a daily driver! (although it could be turned into a show truck rather easily); it’s rugged, and has been used to haul dirt, lumber, furniture, new appliances, et al. over the past 8 years (that’s how long I’ve had it). It’s been garaged the vast majority of that time. It’s never been a daily driver, and has probably driven, on average, about 10 miles per month over the last 8 years. I don't know how many miles are on the engine (had new speedometer and odometer reading when I bought it), but I suspect it's not very much...maybe 20,000 tops. Tiny, quarter-sized rust in far right side of floorboard (not able to see it from outside of truck—floor mat covers it, as well); clean throughout, a blast to drive (probably have been asked 20 times a year if I was interested in selling it). The engine purrs, starts right up every time, in part due to the Pertronix electronic ignition I installed in the distributor. It’s just a great sounding engine. In fact, please visit the video on YouTube...it's a quick walk-through, but, more importantly, you can actually hear the engine.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tlhwrNFPbQ&feature=share_email FEATURES Upgraded to 12-volt system Air conditioning from Old Air Products (nice!), which was designed strictly for ’47-’54 Chevy trucks…fits snugly, unobtrusively under the dash as if factory installed. New trinary switch to protect A/C compressor in event A/C coolant/Freon gets low. Pertronix electronic ignition installed (never change points/condenser again), which greatly adds horsepower, and increases starting ability and fuel economy. New spark plug/Flamethrower coil wires. Brand new chrome bumpers, both front and back. Brand new rear bumper apron. New paint job – painted February ’13. New 60 Amp alternator (for upgraded 12-volt system/air conditioner). Stereo added (designed specifically to fit perfectly in ’50 Chevy dash), which includes noise reducer. Has hook-ups for CD player 4-row Desert Radiator Additional electric pull radiator fan New headliner New seat covers New rubber flooring (what came with new ’50 truck) Side Mount spare tire Rebuilt (and sparkling clean) Rochester carburetor New wiring throughout, including new ‘modern’ spade fuse box. All wiring is protected by split loom tubing. New seat adjuster Brand new gas tank New floor in cab Brand new battery New door lock on passenger-side door (they didn’t come with door lock on drivers-side door) New Chevy decals throughout (hubcaps, tailgate, hood) New oak bed, sanded and refinished, including 2 coats of stain/protectorant ADDED: · New rear end, which allows you to ‘cruise’ at modern-day highway speeds at ‘normal’ RPMs (original rear end would allow you to ‘cruise’ at 50 MPH at high RPM (remember, these were farm trucks) · New transmission (3-on-the-tree) to match the rear end. · Lapbelts · Electric windshield wipers and wiper fluid ‘spray’ motor · Wrapped exhaust pipe to reduce cabin heat · Arm rests for passenger and driver side · WestCoast style side mirrors on driver and passenger sides · Pocket storage that goes behind bench seat. · Turn signals · Dual reservoir master cylinder for safety purposes. NEW: · Pertronix electronic ignition (never replace points or condenser again) · Flamethrower Coil · Spark plug wires · Fuel pump · Gas tank sending unit · Headlight switch · Ashtray · Sanded and stained oak wood bed · Radiator pull fan with adjustable thermostat · Knobs throughout · Modified left rear quarter panel to accommodate side spare tire mount
