Up for auction is this '59 Ford Fairlane Galaxie 500. I'm not a Ford guy, but I bought this to save it from the crusher. Exterior: Super straight sheet metal, with some surface rust. L rear quarter has a small hole. R rear has been removed, but I have all the trim. All of the stainless steel trim is in better than excellent condition! Only dings I can find are on front L fender strip. Grill is immaculate! Headlight bezels are near perfect, too. The only piece of trim that I know is missing is the 2 little fender top pieces with ball on top, and the trunk lock letter "O" that had the key cylinder. R door handle has been removed, and filled in...the last owner was trying to customize it I think, thus the sanded areas on body. Tail light bezels have some minor dents. Glass: windshield is broke, other glass looks good. Interior.: Missing radio, steering wheel, & front seat There are 2 small rust holes on the driver's side floor (seen in photo). Dash looks nice, too. Trunk: big & empty... some surface rust - no holes. Drive train: no engine, but the tranny is still there. No radiator either. And the sought-after 9" rear end is intact.. that's worth half the price of the car alone. All wheels roll freely, but I don't know what the brake situation is. Somebody please save this ol' beast!
