Vehicle Detail

This is a Special Edition 1987 Suzuki Samurai. The Special Edition package came with a special exterior trim and matching interior trim. This is also the JX model which as I understand it indicates that it was the top of the line. It has the see-through headrests, tachometer, digital clock, stereo mount under dash, options including a/c and cruise. This vehicle is stock. It has not been modified and it's not beat up like so many you see. It's getting harder to find one like this. This has the stock 1.3L engine, but does have headers. It starts up every time and runs well. I drove it 3 hours from NC to VA with no problem. The 5-speed transmission shifts easily and the clutch feels good. The transfer case shifts in and out with no problem. It has the removable fiberglass hard top and the lining is in very good condition with no tears at all. There are chrome strips on the top that really dress it up. It has optional headlight guards. The carpet is all in good condition including the optional carpet over the wheel wells. Both front seats have the Special Edition design, but have some wear. The driver's seat is worse than the passenger seat. Nothing that a seat cover wouldn't fix. See photos. There is no rear seat. This makes it handy for hauling. There is a nifty console made between the seats that is very securely mounted. There was an option available on Samurais for a box under the dash where you could lock a valuable. That hard to find box is there, though I do not have the key. The radio is an aftermarket radio cassette player with an additional speaker behind the console. It works well. The vehicle is equipped with a/c, but the compressor is missing. I would guess that someone was going to replace it and never did. It was that way when I bought it. I have priced compressors as well as kits here on eBay and found them to be $134 for a compressor or $214 for a kit of all the parts. Everything is super easy to get to so for very little money you could have working a/c. The cruise control did not work on the trip. I have not checked into it further. There are tow bar connections mounted under the front bumper. There are also two brackets on the back bumper at the corners. I'm unsure what they are, but they look like they could hold a rack or top bows. The paperwork that I was given by the dealer listed the mileage as 64,000 as does the title. Nothing has been check that the mileage is not correct. It does not have the wear that I would expect of a vehicle over 100,000 miles. It is possible that it was used to tow behind a motor home based on the towing brackets on the front. The new title also lists the mileage as 64,028. Three of the tires are like new. The front tires and spare are like new. The back tires have more wear. It does have Suzuki mud flaps. There is a spare tire cover. At most you might want to replace one tire before winter and put the spare on the rear and one of the rear tires on as the spare. All lights and signals work. Wipers are good. The body is good. From what I can tell, this vehicle spent all of it's life in rust-free NC. The floors, undercarriage, frame is all rust-free. The only area that has any patch was in one corner of the back floor. Being that none of the rest of the floor has any problem, I would think that something wet was stored there over a period of time. It doesn't make good sense to me that one corner would have rusted and been fiberglassed and nothing else has any signs. A deposit of $500 is expected within 24 hours and balance is expected within 7 days. There are no exceptions or extensions on this due to a previous problem with a bidder that didn't follow through. Pick up should be within 14 days unless other arrangements have been made in advance. I will do my best to accommodate your needs should you purchase the vehicle.
