Vehicle Detail

1967 Ford F250 Camper Special Custom Cab Pickup VIN: F25YRA90315 Remember the bedtime story of “Jack and the Beanstalk” your Mama told you as a kid? How Jack went to town to peddle the family cow and returned with a handful of “magic beans” instead of cash? I’ve been in the collector car business for the better part of two decades and over the years I’ve trained a select number of folks to go out and “birddog” fun and unique vehicles. Every so often I’m surprised by what Humphrey arrives back at the shop with and was very pleased when he drove in with this exceptional Custom Cab F-series! Take a good look at my photos. With just a casual glance you might think this is just another ol’ truck, maybe owned by somebody’s Granddad. But, just like I did, look a little closer and you’ll realize what a find this thing really is! The first hint is when you check for rust in the usual spots. With the exception of the bed, there really just isn’t any! For those of you not familiar with the Pacific Northwest, we get our share of misty rain, but hardly ever any snow. At the first sign of a falling flake everyone panics and stays home. School is cancelled and business grinds to a stop from “sick” workers calling in. Truth is, our winter roads are rarely salted, so you’ll find VERY few vehicles here with rust issues! Please feel free to climb over, under and around this rig - I know you’ll come up smiling! When you open the hood, you’re in for another nice surprise. I’d forgotten that ’67 was the last year for the venerable 352 C.I. Y-block engine – the same motor found in T-birds dating back to the mid-fifties. $1,375 was spent last October rebuilding the carburetor and installing a new timing chain/gear set, along with new belts and related items (receipts included). Fewer than 1,000 miles have been driven since then. The next owner will have no worries, when cold just hop in, pull the manual choke and she fires right up! I let the engine idle with the it full on for about a two minutes, then push the dash choke button in and drive the rest of the day hassle-free! The heavy duty transmission is very strong and there are 3.73 gears in the Dana rear pumpkin. Here’s how the VIN code breaks down: F25 – Ford F250 4x2 Y - 352 Cu. In. engine R - San Jose Assembly Plant A - 4 speed Manual Transmission (with compound low gear) The data plate shows it was delivered to the Seattle Sales District #74. It has been a local rig since new! The dash has full factory instrumentation including oil-water-amp gauges. All of the chrome on the radio, dash bezels & knobs is perfect. The original rubber floor covering looks almost brand new and I’m certain the ashtray’s never been used for anything other than coin storage. Look at the pics of the bench seat. It is still upholstered with the factory Red Petticrush vinyl in Leeds pattern woven material. Nearly perfect with the exception of two small puncture holes on the driver’s side base as pictured. A close inspection of the headliner and both sun visors tells me they also are original and in excellent shape. The Philco AM radio works great. There are also dual fuel tanks controlled by an electric dash switch and a rear window slider to let the cool breeze pass through the cab as you get that farmers tan on your left arm. The wheels are wrapped with new Firestone LT radials with at least 90 percent remaining tread all around. Outside I know you’ll be impressed by the classic factory two-tone Rangoon Red over Wimbledon White paint. We did nothing more than hand buff and wax it to bring out that color! There are some spots with surface rust from nicks, dents & scratches and a significant amount of corrosion through the base of the bed where a camper sat for nearly forty years and must have let water collect. It's a shame, because the rest is about as nice as you'll EVER find on an un-restored truck! The missing paint on the two front fenders was caused by stabilizers for the camper that rubbed gently against the body in those two spots. My suggestion for the bed, rather than replacement, is to install a nice PVC liner or tonneau cover and call it good. I really debated whether to paint the entire body before posting it here on Ebay, but the cool patina and old-school vibe this rig projects kept me from doing so! Remember the old collector car adage: “Any vehicle can be restored, given enough time and money, but it can only be factory original once!” So true. This outstanding truck really deserves to be preserved as it rolled off the line for as long as possible! Please feel free to email or contact me with any questions. My name is MARK Thompson and my direct number is 206/914-1173. You’re welcome and encouraged to come by my Auburn, WA warehouse to inspect & drive the truck. You may also make an offer before the end of the auction, as many of my vehicles sell to smart “early birds” that call and work out a deal prior to the auction’s end. I always reserve the right to sell during this period. A Few Additional Terms and Conditions: A nonrefundable $500 deposit needs to be paid within 48 hours of the auction’s conclusion. The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven business days unless prior arrangements have been made with me. I can accept PAYPAL, but if you plan to pay any more than the deposit through them I’ll first need to invoice you and ask that you cover the 3% fee PayPal charges. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You’re not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the vehicle later -- You’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends. If you decide to ship the truck home there are scores of vehicle transporters to choose from. I ship cars & trucks regularly and would suggest you get a transport bid from Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS). They're EBay's preferred shipping partner and will give you a fair, firm quote. Call my designated rep, Janice, directly at (469)587-5096. Give her my affiliate number (2363642) and she can pull up all our information for a station-to-station or even door-to-door delivery quote. As an alternative, you might also get bids from the U-Ship.com website. You'll be able to choose a transport broker from multiple offers. Our Zip Code for loading out the truck is 98002 (Auburn, Washington). The shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER and I will help in any way possible. The truck can be stored free of charge at my location for up to two weeks after the auction ends assuming full payment has been received. After this period storage is $20 per day.
