Vehicle Detail
Offered here is a 1966 TRIUMPH 2000 4 door sedan. A true survivor from California. This Triumph features a rust free body and fully sorted mechanicals. The valve seats and valves were changed to make it run on no-lead gasoline. The tune and the carburetors are set up for modern gasoline, and this Triumph runs just as it should. Proper setup and tuning are verified with an oxygen sensor in the exhaust. The transmission is smooth, the clutch works very well and everything works as is should right down to the rare AM/FM radio, the door locks and even the heater. The suspension feels like new and the steering is right on. The disc brakes are excellent. The tires and the paint job are recent. Reliability has been proven by several longer trips as well as daily use. The radiator was re-cored and the engine runs cool on even the hottest day. Original specifications have been observed in everything except these two items. A digital temperature readout has been added (in the parcel tray) and the differential final drive has been changed to a higher gear unit from a Triumph Stag. The differential change was made to reduce the engine speed at highway speeds. This car loves turnpike speeds as well as around town driving. The interior is mostly original with no cracks in the dash top, excellent headliner, very nice seats, excellent door liners, up to date seat belts, and very nice original carpets and wood. This car was offered last year, but was pulled from the market when I hit a deer and bent the front "nose cone". Our fleet insurance paid to have a new (NOS) nose cone sent from England, even though we could have repaired the original if we would have been forced to. The new nose cone was complete with the supports behind it and all the parts were available from new old stock suppliers. The new parts were professionally and properly installed and the results are excellent. (I was very pleased with Auto Owners Insurance) This is a car that you can drive on special occasions like the guys with the MGBs or TR6s, but it has more flexibility. You can drive this unique fun to drive car to work, to the opera, to the barbecue, or on vacation as well as those rare special occasions. . It stands out like a unique white rose in contrast to all of those more common red MGBs. This car is ONLY for sale to someone who will appreciate this car and take care of it. My collection ( The Rallye Collection) has grown too large and I am again reducing the number of cars. The engine is in common with the GT6 and maintenance is simple. One thing that you can be sure of is that since this car has been in the Rallye Collection since 2009, it has been sorted and runs as it should. I have driven and flown many miles to be disappointed with the car I went to see, and I go out of my way to make sure that anything I offer is not going to disappoint. The speedometer was changed several years ago, but I have the original. The combined mileage between the two speedometers is about 100K miles. There are quite a lot of new parts that go with this car, if you want them. The car is available to be seen at my business Rallye Import Automotive, 4507 Isabella Street, Midland Michigan 48640 and I highly recommend that you take time to look at this car. Call ahead to 989 835 4430 ask for Dale Lots of money has been spent on this car and the reserve is WELL BELOW what was spent.
