1961 Corvette Click the picture above for an album of higher resolution pictures. This 1961 Corvette Convertible is in very good shape, but is not completely original. The original 283 engine has been replaced with a 350 block engine, the original transmission has been replaced with an automatic transmission. The car has its original frame, body, and paint. The paint has some cracks and chips. In the middle of the hood there are some small cracks. The top is also original and has a small tear near the passenger side window. This car has the VERY RARE power operated folding top, of which only 442 were made for the 1961 model year. The power folding top, however, is not working but all of the parts appear to be there. The glass is all in great shape, no cracks or chips. The interior is black and also in good shape. The carpet has a small tear, and there is some flaking paint in a couple small spots. The radio has been replaced with a non original radio. The gauges are not all working, they are all there, but the speedometer, tachometer, and gas gauge do not fully work. The odometer may not be accurate because it is not an original engine. This car is fun to drive and will always have people coming over to talk to you. It has its flaws, but is still a beautiful car that can't help but make you smile when you are sitting in the driver's seat. The car is available to be seen any time until the end of the auction.
