Up for Auction is a newly restored Steve McQueen "Great Escape" motorcycle. I started out with a good running 1964 T100 and built it as close as possible to the orginal. The original bike was stripped to make it lighter for the jumping sceens and also to ressemble a German era war bike. I added a horn, original chain guard, brake light, speedometer to make it street lagal. These are things that have been replaced... tires, tubes, cables, grips, handle bars, front fender and brackets, Lucas style light switch, dust covers for front fork, foot peg rubber, fuel tank knee pad rubber, solo seat, front and rear number plates and all fluids. I'm sure that I missed a few things.The bike is painted with PPG O.D. green paint. Black cloth tape on wiring harness. A key ignition was added. The front fender is from a early BMW. Also made a lugage rack to match the Original. The tire tread pattern matces as well. Once again I tried to make it look as close possible to the orginal movie bike. The bikes runs and sounds great. Bike has one very, very small oil leak which is normal for British bikes. I added a connector for the battery trickle charger, I will include the charger. Looks great for a 50 year old bike. I reduced the buy it now and my reserve price. Found a old BMW here locally that I would like to buy.Can only afford one project at time.Thanks
