Vehicle Detail
You have found a gorgeous 1966 Pontiac Le Mans convertible in truly excellent condition. I am listing this car on behalf of my father. This has been strictly a sunny day cruiser for him. He has enjoyed it, and he’s simply ready to move on to something else. I am very picky about automobile condition—without exaggeration, this car is in extraordinary shape. The exterior, interior, engine bay, and trunk are all impeccable. The underside is equally impressive. No rust; no dents; no odd smells; no significant wear in the upholstery, carpet, or dashboard; and no noteworthy paint scrapes or scratches. The chrome and trim are shiny and fresh; no pitting, corrosion, or cloudiness. The power-operated convertible top opens and closes perfectly. One of the very few nitpicks to note is that there is a snag in the rear-window zipper. This is a very minor annoyance—the rear window itself is clean, clear, and secure (not hazed, creased, or cracked); the top is super clean, snug, and almost new in condition; and, as I mentioned, the top opens and closes without problems. The next owner can decide whether the zipper is worth bothering with to make absolutely perfect—its repair cost would likely be minimal. The paint is a beautiful Martinique Bronze, a color formula GM used only in 1966. The photos do not do justice to the paint’s beauty. The finish has a ton of luster and depth, and there are very, very few hard-to-see blemishes consistent with a well-cared-for car that’s driven only in excellent weather. The car is always stored in my dad’s attached garage, and it is additionally protected under a high-quality cover during the winter months. This Le Mans is powered by a high-performance 455 cubic inch Pontiac V8 engine with 4-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock performance cylinder heads. The odometer reads 15,580, but as this is not the original engine, we are listing the car as true mileage unknown. The transmission has been upgraded to a 4-speed Turbo-HydraMatic, and the exhaust note has a wonderful deep burble. The car starts, idles, runs, drives, turns, and stops great, no problems. As you can see in the photos, the engine bay is super clean and attractive, with top-notch parts and presentation. Clear title in hand. Here’s how the car’s VIN decodes: VIN: 237676P186468 2 = GM Division (Pontiac) 37 = Tempest Le Mans 67 = 2-Door Convertible 6 = Model Year (1966) P = Assembly Plant (Pontiac, MI) 186468 = Production Sequence (which started at 100001) We’ve listed this lovely Le Mans at what we feel is a very fair price considering its extraordinarily clean and straight condition, as well as its features. However, we will also consider reasonable offers. I have previously sold a car on eBay for my father, and that transaction went perfectly, with a satisfied buyer. I have also purchased vehicles through eBay for myself with equally good results. I have 100% feedback; I want the buyer to be happy, and I want to maintain my spotless rating. The car is located at my father’s home in South Bend, Indiana. We’re happy to show it to interested parties by appointment; contact me through eBay’s “Ask a Question” feature near the top-right of this listing. We will also make the car available for shipper pickup; buyer arranges and pays for shipping. Don’t miss a great deal on a great car! Again, it’s in excellent condition, and I think anyone shopping for a ’66 Pontiac convertible will be very happy with it.
