THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN KENTUCKY. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS BEFORE BIDDING. DESCRIPTION: You are bidding on one previously owned Jeep Cherokee. This SUV was owned and turned in to us by another State Agency. This is now considered Kentucky State Government Surplus Property. They have asked us to sell it for them and we chose to sell it on EBAY. VIN: 1J4FJ28S9WL152093 GENERAL: This Jeep Cherokee Sport is a 1998 with the 4.0 Liter In-Line 6-Cylinder gasoline engine. This is a 4-Wheel Drive Jeep and the 4WD works in all of the settings. It is White in color and has Gray cloth interior. It has an automatic transmission that seems to shift smoothly and properly. There is a full size spare tire in the cargo area and the tire jack and jack handle is under the rear seat on the passenger side. There are 225556 miles on this Cherokee. This Jeep runs good and starts right up. There is a little rattle in the muffler area and may need a muffler in the next little while or so. It is quiet right now. I have only driven this vehicle about 6 miles and it seemed to be in good operating condition during my test drive. I did add some water to the radiator and reservoir, so it will need the antifreeze to water ratio adjusted before cold weather. DRIVER’S SIDE: Front Fender: It has 3-4 small chips in the paint. It had small State Seals or Emblems on the front fenders and there is some residue from where we removed those small seals. There is also a little bit of road tar at the bottom of the fender behind the wheel well opening. Driver’s Door: There are several chips and scratches from where someone previously took off the State or Agencies Seals. It appears as if someone has scraped them off. The rear edge of the door has some chips in the paint on the edges as well. Rear Door: It has a few chips in the paint. The front edge of the door has some chips on the edge too. Rear Quarter Panel: There is some residual residue from the small state emblems that we removed from this panel. Other than that, this quarter panel is in good condition. REAR END: Bumper: It has 4-5 spots of paint missing on the top side of this bumper. There is a faded-out bumper sticker on the bumper on the driver’s side. There is a hitch that will receive a 2” ball mount and ball. The hitch is rusty looking and has no paint on it. A fresh coat of paint on it would help the appearance of it a lot. Lift Gate: The glass or window does not open at all but it does have a rear window wiper and washer on it. There are a few small chips in the paint on the lift gate. PASSENGER’S SIDE: Rear Quarter Panel: It has 10-12 chips in the paint, most of them are small. There is a scratch that is approx. a foot long. There may be a little residue from where we removed the small agency emblems. Rear Door: It has several chips in the paint. There is one (1) small dent in one of the upper body lines about 6-8 inches from the front edge of the door. Front Door: There are a lot of scratches, gouges and scrape marks where someone previously removed the State Seals incorrectly or did a very poor job of removing them. (See Photo). Front Fender: Only 5-6 chips in the paint and the quarter panel looks good other than that. FRONT END: Bumper: It has several chips in the paint and a small dent in the bumper near the center. Grille: It has no visible flaws, cracks or damage. . Hood: There are several light scratches. There are a few small chips in the paint. ROOF: There are a couple of small dents in the roof. There is very little surface rust around the gutter line. There are no luggage racks or roof racks. It has 3-4 small chips in the paint. WHEELS: All four wheels are steel wheels and could use a good cleaning and a coat of fresh paint. The center caps or hub covers are all in place. INTERIOR: It is Gray cloth and has a Black vinyl floor mat in the seating area. The front seats do a couple of small stains in them but there are no rips or tears. The console looks to be in good shape but could use a better cleaning than we were able to give it. The console has a fold up lid on the storage compartment and can be used to rest your arms on too. There are two (2) cup holders in the console. The transmission gear shifter is in the console as is the shifter to switch into and out of Four Wheel Drive. The door mirrors are power mirrors and the door locks, seats and windows are all adjusted manually. There is an AM/FM Stereo with a small graphic equalizer built in. There is a 12 Volt Power Supply in the dash. The cigarette lighter works and the ashtray is in the top of the console. The headliner is beginning to come loose or unglued in places and there is one tear in the headliner approx. 2” long and approx. ¾” wide. The Air Conditioner works well and comes out in the places that it is supposed to blow out. The windshield wipers have a delay action available on them. The rear seat looks to be in good shape except for a small tear in the side of the seat on the passenger side. It isn’t noticeable until you have the rear seats folded down for more cargo area. The Cargo Area is carpeted and it is Gray. I believe that I took a picture or two of the seats folded down then up, if you look closely, you may be able to see that. I had this vehicle running while these pictures were taken. Please note that it is entirely possible that we missed something or failed to see it or failed to mention something about this vehicle. We have made an honest effort to try to give you an accurate and detailed description of this vehicle as best as we possibly can. Still sometimes we miss things.
