Vehicle Detail
This Corvette has less than 42,200 miles. I am the second owner (owned since 1985). This great looking Corvette offers: It has the original, stock 350 cu. in. (5.7 liter) Corvette L81 V8 (the only engine choice in 1981) with the original Holley four-barrel carburetor. The engine computer was recently replaced and the car runs perfectly. Original, stainless-steel, dual exhaust system. I replaced the original brakes with stainless steel brake calipers, heavy-duty brake pads, and DOT 5 silicon racing brake fluid in 1986. This car has beautiful Corvette chrome spoke wheels (I never had the aluminum slotted wheels), removable T-tops, T-top cases, automatic trans, custom pin stripes, telescoping/tilt wheel, PW, PB, PDL, and original ETR AM/FM stereo cassette. It is clean inside and out. Cloth interior and has always been owned by non-smokers (never been smoked in). I also have a soft top that may be used instead of the T-tops. There are only a couple minor modifications. The rear lights have been converted to quad red with louvers and the back-up lights moved to the license plate. The converter has been replaced with a by-pass pipe and the air-pump and associated tubes are removed. I saved all the original parts. The A/C does not work (needs a charge?) and the cruise control was bypassed years ago. The 1980 - 1982 Corvettes were the final version of the C3 Corvettes and were considered the best looking of the 3rd generation Corvette with their integrated front and rear bumper with spoiler. These were the second generation Stingray Corvette design and Chevy has revived the Stingray again with the 2014 Corvette. NADAguides prices 1981 Corvettes from $11,055 (low retail) to $14,080 (average retail) to $25,080 (high retail). I am asking $11,400 for this beautiful Corvette locally and have set the reserve much lower. I am selling as I need the garage space during the winter (this care never sees snow or rain) and my wife says something has to go. Asking $10,500. Contact me with any questions! Thank you -
