This is a clean ,low mileage 2009 KIA BORREGO EX , that comes with a reconstructed title...The Body & Paint senior students here at our Technical Career College with the close supervision and help of the instructors,repaired the late model KIA. It was purchased from the insurance company, as a run and drive classification, Which means after the accident it could be started and driven under its own power...We actually purchase it in 2011 with only 5475 miles on it. It was not damaged bad, but it did have a Louisiana salvage title that had to be converted to a reconstructed title once the Borrego was repaired and inspected by the state police , Then the required paper work with all documentation stating what was done to make the vehicle safe for the road once again . This included parts replaced ,and description of the reconstruction process start to finish. Then all documentation is submitted to the state DMV. We did not finish the KIA until 2012. It appears the KIA had ran off the road into a shallow ditch. The front bumper was broken , and several of the front suspension parts were bent. To be on the safe side we replaced the major suspension parts on both sides , These new factory parts were purchased from our local KIA dealer. On the left upper side a small frame bracket was needed, in order to get a perfect alignment, The alignment was done at good year, the oil was also recently changed. When the Borrego impacted , the driver's airbag deployed . The airbag was replaced along with the driver side seat belt, and a new airbag system control module was installed. One nice feature on this KIA , is the memory seat position , and steering wheel adjustment. There is only one key for this Borrego , and it did not come with the remote transponder , that opens and locks the doors , so you will have to bring the vehicle to either the dealer or a specialized key lock franchise , to purchase and have the transponder programmed. I have put about 2100 miles on it. I purchased the Borrego from the school, thinking it might be my main source of transportation, but it became one of four cars I owned at the time. It rides nice , plenty power, but I suffer from severe arthritis and it is just to hard getting in and out , thus the current low mileage . I have a 2007 Buick Rendezvous, that is much easier to get into. The only quirk you will notice about all KIA's mainly the SUV models like Sorrento and Borrego is, if you use other than original dealer factory oil filters, and there is a KIA manufacturers bulletin to that effect, ( when you first start the car in the morning and sometimes if it sits all day there may be a 2 to 7 second valve rattle noise ) , That's because the original oil filter has a pressure residual value that maintains a certain engine off pressure. I tried to take the pictures that would give a potential bidder a idea of the physical condition of the Borrego...It does have a few minor scratches and chip paint in one or two spots, but it does have that new appearance. The KIA should drive anywhere if the winner decides to fly into New Orleans , I will pick you up at the airport. If you do not have at least a 10 feedback please do not bid .
