Vehicle Detail
This a Barn fresh 1931 American Austin Roadster that needs restoration The car is 98 percent complete. The Motor has not run since 1950's and the head has a water jacket crack. The car has been under cover for 50 plus years. The body is very solid and the canvas top is in very good condition. I have read that there was only 1500 of these roadsters made between 1930 and 1933 and there are only 63 left in existance. Make that 64 now. Check this out and e-mail with questions. I have the car in NH so any shipping will be up to the buyer. I will accomodate the shipping company but the rest will be up to the buyer. The floors are solid and all the running gear is present. A super good restoration project car. On Jun-24-13 at 15:02:28 PDT, seller added the following information: The last one restored sold for $68,000 This is a super rare car and I would do some research on this so you can see the rarity and demand for such a solid complete car as this one is. It was running and in a Parade in 2000. Then put back in the barn.On Jun-25-13 at 02:52:51 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello This car was built in Butler PA. USA. The Body was Built by Hayes Grand Rapids Michigan. To answer questions about body condition I can rock the entire car by grabbing each fender and the whoe car moves without the fender flexing. The under pans are rust free. There are no holes in the body. The total weight of car is only 1250 pounds. The brakes work. The clutch works and the tranny shifts solid,no slop. I keep getting offers for a buy it now,but I have a reserve on this car and the reserve is less than one fifth of what a restored Roadster is worth so bid with confidence , I promise you will not lose out on this car. Thanks Again. On Jun-25-13 at 04:48:50 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello the frame # on this car is A 9430 and the Body # is 142-608 Hayes Body Corp Grand Rapids Mich. Thanks againOn Jun-25-13 at 14:13:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Good news. Motor turns freely with good compression. I will put a little gas in her and bet she starts. I Will keep everyone updated. All she needs now is a radiator cap, a new fan belt, repair the head or get used one. I have located all of these parts in Pa. and they are Original. ThanksOn Jun-27-13 at 07:37:36 PDT, seller added the following information: I Have a current New Hampshire Vehicle registration 2013 and a notorized bill of sale to new buyer and am currently applying for an Affidavit of ownership for antique Vehicles through the State of New Hampshire.
