1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu owned by a former professional mechanic for the past 34 years. I am selling this Chevelle for my father who used it as a daily driver for 31 years. Purchased at auction in October 1978 and has had one owner since then. The car is mechanically sound and can be driven daily if you like. Odometer currently reads 94257, but we are not going to lie, it has flipped over 2 times. True mileage is 294257. Has a hand choke installed under the dash. Comes with the 327 Cubic Inch Engine from A 1966 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport. Factory rated 275 horsepower. Put a 300 horsepower cam in the engine during rebuild. This car came with a 307 cubic inch engine from the factory. Installed a High Energy Elecctronic Ignition (HEI) from a 78 Monte Carlo so that you don't have to change the points and condenser every 10000 to 12000 miles like you would have had to when the car was new. The 327 was rebuilt and bored 30 over approximately 40000 miles ago. Has a turbo 350 three speed automatic transmission with reverse. Has a 10 bolt posi rear which came stock from the factory. Has height adjustable air shocks in rear. There is a schreader valve installed in the bumper to the left of the license plate to adjust the height of the rear. We have installed an aftermarket radio head unit to replace the standard AM-only radio that came with the car. We have the original radio and will throw it in if you would like. We installed two additional speakers in the rear deck of the car to supplement the one that came in the front from the factory. The frame had rusted in the past and was welded by former professional welder. Dual exhaust was installed several years ago. This car came with a single exhaust from the factory. It sounds great now! It was bumped in the right rear by a minivan at a stoplight. The damage around the right rear bumper is visible in the pics. There is a dent under the vinyl on the right rear side from this. There is a reverse J shaped crack in the windshield on the passenger side. This has not interfered with PA state inspection since it occurred approximately 19 years ago. The drivers side door is primed. The car will need other all around body work to have a great finish. The car is painted "Classic Copper" which is the factory stock color. It is GM Paint code WA4033. The black vinyl top is original. The interior is tan. We recently had the bench seats reupholstered. They look great now! Car has 15 inch rims with a set of 4 "Mexican Hat" type center caps and beauty rings. There are factory installed hard point shoulder belts for the front driver and passenger. The adjustable lap belts for them are on the factory installed functioning reels. The center front passenger seat has a hard point adjustable lap belt. The car runs great! We hate to sell it, but we don't have the capability to really make the body look really good. It runs great, is mechanically sound, and can be driven every day if you like. Has current Pennsylvania State Inspection dated December of 2013. The title is clear. There is no warranty expressed or implied with the car.
