Greetings, This car is for sale because of the unexpected passing of it's owner. He was in the process of restoring it and now it must be sold as-is. It is a 1972 RS split bumper Camaro. It is located in a garage in Albuquerque, NM. Included in this sale is the car and everything in the garage that pertains to the car, which is considerable. The pictures show some of the contents that the fellow had collected for the restoration. What we know is the car has factory AC, tilt wheel, auto trans. The engine and transmission have been removed, however, there is one custom built 454 with double carbs mounted on a stand plus several other engines in unknown condition in the garage. There are several transmissions also. There is pistons, carburetors, distributors, instrument panels , and the list goes on. . The instrument panel has been removed, however we found 3 or more replacements so we don't know the mileage of the car. The paint will need work, we found scratches(from a cat) and a few chips . Upon re inspection of the vehicle, after removing a cover on the passenger seat the upholstery was seen to be in poor condition, the drivers seat is better and the rear seat looks good(see pics). The headliner, dash, rear deck are in fair condition. The trunk looked good until I lifted the mat and saw that there is some surface rust, it's not rusted out and there are no holes but you can tell water had been in there. The rubber around the doors looks weather cracked, the glass is good and the windows move freely in the tracks.The car looks stock, and after talking with the wife(widow) she said he was going to restore the car to original condition and NOT put the big 454 in the car. The car originally came with a 350. We believe that is one of the engines in the garage. There is parts hanging from the rafters and we found more parts in containers in the back yard. We will be in the process this week of boxing anything and everything we can find that is car related and it will be included in this sale. The starting price has been lowered, we want this to be a good deal for someone and we realize long distances may be traveled to pick the car up. We do know he had much more invested(dollar wise) in this project, but it's what he loved to do and life moves on for his family. On Jun-27-13 at 17:51:31 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been asked about rust, today I moved stuff to get a better look at the car and other than the trunk the right rear quarter panel on the very bottom shows some rust. I crawled under the vehicle and the underside looks solid. Hope this helps.
