Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is an exceptional one owner (other than me and I only acquired the bike in 2012) 1982 Honda Ascot FT 500 with some of the best modifications that can be done to this particular model bike for street use. Please see the link below for some valuable insight regarding this. This bike has a Wiseco 2nd over forged piston, with new valves and new valve springs. White Brothers mild cam. Machined and rebuilt by Terry Sage Motorcycles in Stockton California. Additionally, it has a White Brothers 38 mm round slide kit and White Brothers exhaust with White Brothers header that has been ceramic coated. Also has Lockhart oil cooler as well as a RIFLE mini-fairing. Steel braided brake lines front and rear. The master cylinder has just been rebuilt as well. There are approximately 27,000 miles on bike with about 7000 miles since rebuild. Runs very strong. I have used synthetic motorcycle oil always except for break-in. Oil has been changed every 500-700 miles. The bike also has Barnett clutch plates and clutch springs. Front forks have Progressive suspension progressively wound springs and rear shocks are expensive Fox piggybacks. Front tire is a Metzeler Laser and rear tire is a Metzeler Marathon both with plenty of good tread although the sidewalls are starting to show some cracking. Cosmetically the bike is in excellent condition as well especially considering its age. The paint is original and you absolutely wouldn't believe it was 30 years old if you were to see it in person. Please look at the photos carefully. I have tried to take photos of the few insignificant blemishes it has. Extras included replacement Timken style bearing kit to put on for steering head. Like new stock exhaust, stock carb like new and stock air box like new with brand new paper air filter. Have 4 new O.E.M. oil filters for it. Have original like new rubber brake lines. Have one new clutch side cover gasket. Have one very good left side spare left side front fork for it. Extra front fender and new replacement O.E.M. fork seals. Have new rubber seals that go into speedo tach unit. Have one set of new Ferodo brake pads. I also still have stock rear shocks that have hardly been used as well as brand new front and rear sprockets still in their original packaging. Bike gets excellent gas mileage over 60 mpg. These Ascots are getting rare and very rare in any decent shape. I have a factory shop manual for it with original factory brochure and also one reprint of magazine test. http://pierre.touzeau.pagesperso-orange.fr/html/ft500faq.htm
