Vehicle Detail
This vehicle was listed for the past week. As the auction was closing on 6/10 I went to my mechanic to make sure I had all of the service records. It was then that I realized that there was additional information that I felt I should disclose and ebay advised that it would probably be more effective to relist the vehicle than to revise the listing so late in the auction. I am sorry for the inconvenience. I am listing the car for a 3 day auction since it has already been listed for a week. The first paragraph below is the exact description from the original listing. The second paragraph (in bold) is the new info I learned from my mechanic this morning when I stopped in to make sure I had all the service records. Thanks for your interest and my apologies for any inconvenience the relisting may have caused. For sale by owner. I have owned this BMW since Oct. 2005 and have had no problems with the car until the recent transmission issue as described. I have all of the service records for the vehicle since I have owned it. The BMW is in very good condition with normal wear and tear you would expect with a car of its age. It has not been involved in any accidents. It also runs well but needs transmission work or replacement. I recently discovered a leak on my garage floor under the engine compartment. I took the car to my repair shop and was advised that the transmission was in need of major repair or replacement. I was told that I could still drive the vehicle and I have been doing so on occasion without any problems and no serious leaks. But I have decided to sell the car rather than have the needed transmission repair. Therefore, I am selling the vehicle AS IS. The car is registered in Delaware through 10/15/13. I have included pictures which show that the BMW has been well cared for and is in very good condition. Please free free to ask any questions. As mentioned above, I took the car in to diagnose the leak on 11/16/12. The mechanic advised that the vehicle needed an automatic transmission and that fluid was blowing through the transmission vent. In addition the "comments" section of the invoice contained the following: "Tires @ or near wear bars, recommend alignment w/ tires" "Oil level light comes on, level o.k., will need oil level sensor" "Rear differential mount cracking" "Oil filter housing and oil separator leking" "All wheels slightly bent" I asked the mechanic about the rear differential crack and he said that eventually it would have to be addressed and he estimated the cost at $450. It was because of this new info that I felt I needed to relist the BMW so all bidders would be aware. As before, however, I can not guarantee how the car will perform. I am selling it AS IS but I believe it is in excellent condition for a car of its age and mileage and as you can see from the pictures. Also, if you are the winning bidder you will see that it has been well maintained and serviced and this will be documented by the fact that all service records are provided. Thank you for your interest in this BMW.
