Vehicle Detail

-2002 Ford Crown Victoria P71- Up for auction today is a 2002 Ford Crown Victoria P71. Car has relatively low miles for a P71, as most of the ones I see listed have been painted 5 times, have been a taxi, and have well over 300k on them. Not the case here. This car was owned by the Centre Island police department, and was an unmarked vehicle. The car is in overall very good shape for a P71. The Paint is glossy and shiny. May have been repainted at some point, i'm not sure. It certainly doesn't look that way, but given how nice the paint shines, I just wanted to throw that out there. There is a pin sized rust spot on the passenger fender that has been covered with a dab of touch up paint. There is a scrape along the bottom of the passenger doors, it appears to have hit a rock or curb or something. It's not very noticeable unless you are close to the car. Front and rear bumpers have average wear. I purchased this car a few months ago for 1400.00. At the time, it had an intermittent misfire, and the seller had just put a new intake on it (common problem on later 4.6 engines), and claimed he hadn't investigated the misfire that appeared shortly after. When I got the vehicle home, and started investigating, I learned that whoever installed the intake did a TERRIBLE job, and left quite a few bolts out, and even cracked and tried to jb weld the underside of the intake, causing coolant to enter cylinder #3, wetting the coil boot and causing a misfire. I replaced the intake with one that I had sitting around that probably had less than 6 months of use, replaced the coil on that cylinder, and the car has run great ever since. Since then, The car has a lot of work done by me: New KYB Gas-A-Just Severe service shocks. (I have purchased front and rear, but only installed the front. Will include the rears with sale.) New Idler Arm New Bendix Severe service brake pads, front and rear. New Radiator. Previous owner used stop leak to attempt to fix the intake leak, and after several chemical flushes, I could not get the temperature of the car to stay at a reasonable level, so I replaced the radiator. Problem solved. Passed NYS inspection 5/1/2013. Tires are fair. Will probably need new tires before next year. Car runs excellent. Trans shifts fine. I was going to J-Mod it , but didn't get around to doing so. Rear end was supposedly rebuilt last year, but unfortunately I have no documentation to prove this. All accessories work. Cold A/C, hot heat. All power windows and locks work. The Passenger side power lock sometimes is a little finicky. I am going to try to look into that this week. Interior is in fair to good shape. Average wear for a P71. Has working ticket light. There is a hole in the headliner where equipment used to be. Car has a few extras as well: Havis-Shield console Cobra CB Radio with working PA system Amber strobes mounted in rear window and front mirrors. Had strobes on the front grille as well, but I removed them, and will include them with the sale. Headlight flashers. Pioneer CD Player with upgraded speakers. Rear window is tinted. Has K&N Cold air intake kit with shield. Has Dual Spotlights. Drivers side works. Passenger side does not, I have not investigated. Has Gentex Autodimming rear view mirror with Compass. Remote start and Keyless entry. All in all this is a great car, and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. It is in MUCH better shape than 95% of the P71's I see online, and I hate to sell it , but I have instead decided to purchase a new vehicle. Just wanted to add. If someone does happen to use buy it now, I will be away this weekend, and the vehicle will not be able to be picked up until Tuesday of next week (6/4)
