For auction is my 1972 E9 Coupe. If you're looking at this, you know that these cars are rare and fewer than 1500 were made in 1972. This is an American spec car with leather interior and A/C (A must in TX obviously). I purchased the car a little over a year ago and had it shipped from LA. It spent some time at Bavarian Machine Specialties in Houston where it got a $6,000 serious mechanical run-through including all new calipers and rotors, radiator and cooling hoses, window tune-up, belts, air filters, A/C service w/ R13 refill, etc. The car passed TX inspection and has TX registration through July 2013 Car title is clear and in my name. This is a good "driver" E9. It runs very well and I take it to work when it's dry weather. The A/C blows cold, transmission shifts well, engine is very strong, and it cruises well. This car does have rust and to make it a long term collector, it needs a trip to the body shop. As you can see from the photos, the car also comes with the fuel injection system, so if you're up for it you can do a conversion for a few extra horsepower. The Good: Solid shock towers front and rear. Front inner fenders in engine bay are not rusted. Engine bay is solid. Strong A/C Seats are in decent shape. Fronts have no rips. Rears have splits in the center section and right arm rest. Extra set of arm rests included w/ car Dash wood is in decent shape. Vinyl is OK but has a few cracks on top. Windows ALL go up and down well. All glass chip/crack free. The windshield and rear window seals are good. Wing windows open and seals are good. Carbs tuned by Sergio at BMS and run smoothly - chokes work. Needs work. I'll try to be totally transparent here and list everything: The floor pans are rusted on both sides. I obtained EXCELLENT reproduction pans from the guy in NM but haven't put them in yet. The drivers side rocker is rusted at front and rear The passengers side rocker is pretty good. There are a few bubbles of rust in spots as shown in the photos. Spare tire well has rust in it and needs a new plug hole/plug. Wood interior door trim needs refinishing Headlights work up until recently but now the driving lights will come on but not the headlights. The car is available for inspection in Houston TX any day after 6pm. The car is sold as is with no warranty. Any questions drop me a line!
