Vehicle Detail

Hi, I'm pretty sure my Dad bought this car in 1972. We lifted the body off the frame in anticipation of doing a ground up restoration. Shortly thereafter, my Dad bought a 1931 Model A sport coupe, and we decided to focus on restoring the Model A first. So we set the Plymouth body back on the frame and she went back into storage. It remained in storage, in the same barn untouched, for the next 40 years. Mom and Dad have passed on now and I have decided to sell the car. I will describe the car as accurately and honestly as possible. There is some redundancy in my description; however, I want to be as accurate as possible so that you [the bidder] will know what you are bidding on. Here goes..., the Frame is solid and rust free..., the Running Gear [engine, transmission, rear end, etc.] is solid and rust free and 100% complete and in good restorable condition..., the engine turns over fine and should run without too much trouble..., the Front Bumper has a slight dent in the center and the chrome is good with some peeling and pitting..., the Grill is solid and rust free..., the Front Fenders have some dings/dents and are solid and rust free..., the Left and Right Side Panels between the fender and the hood are solid and rust free..., the Hood has a small ding/dent and is solid and rust free..., the Cowling is solid and rust free..., the Left and Right doors are solid and rust free..., the Left and Right Running Boards are solid and rust free [rubber surface needs replacing]..., the Left Rear Dog Leg is solid except for there is some rust through at the bottom 1" [does not show well in picture]..., the Right Rear Dog Leg is solid except the bottom 2" or 3" is rusted away [shows in picture],..., the Rear Fenders have some dings/dents and are solid and rust free..., the Trunk Lid is solid and rust free..., the Filler Panel between the Rear Bumper and Rear Body is solid and rust free..., the Left Rear Body Section [I'll call it the inner fender area and the outer rear body under the tail light] is solid and rust free..., the Right Rear Body Section [I'll call it the inner fender area and the outer rear body under tail light] is solid except there is some rust through on the body at the point where the fender flange meets the body and some rust through on the bottom 1" or 2" of the rear body under tail light [shows in picture]..., the Sheet Metal Floor Pan, including the Trunk Floor has considerable rust through [there was a small leak in the roof of the barn at some point and the floor pan got wet, I believe most, if not all, of the floor [sheet metal] will need replacing]..., the Hardware for the convertible top [Scissors Frame, Air Pistons, Rear Window Glass and Trim] are 100% complete and in good condition [note: very little of the canvas top remains and it will need an entirely new fabric top]..., the Left Side Windshield is cracked..., the Right Side Windshield is good..., the Chrome Trim around both sides of the windshield is good ..., on both Doors the Glass and Chrome Trim around the glass is good..., the Horizontal Chrome Moldings on the front grill are good..., the Vertical Chrome Molding on Front Grill has some dings/dents in it..., the Left Front Headlight Chrome Trim Ring has some rust through on bottom..., the Right Front Headlight Chrome Trim Ring has some rust through on bottom..., the Chrome Molding in Center of Hood has rust pitting..., the Left Door Handles [inside and outside] have some pitting..., the Right Door Handles [inside and outside] have some pitting [note: the Window Wind Handle is not pictured, though I do have it and it comes with the car]..., the chrome trim around the Left Rear Taillight is good..., the chrome trim around the Right Rear Taillight has a ding/dent in it..., the Chrome on the Rear Bumper is poor and is peeling off..., three of the Hubcaps match with the Plymouth ship design, the 4th Hubcap says Dodge, all 4 are in fair to good condition..., Now on to what's missing, both the Right and Left Mirrors are missing..., the Left Side Hood Latch Handle and the short Chrome Moulding beside it are missing..., the Chrome molding that goes on the outside edge of the Hood is missing..., the gas tank, sending unit and filler spout have been misplaced and are missing..., Please Note: anything that is Fabric or Leather [Seats, Interior Door Trim, Carpet, Top, etc.] is going to need to be repaired or replaced..., As to Title..., The State of Maine does not and will not issue a title for a motor vehicle manufactured prior to 1995. I will provide the buyer with a "Notarized Bill of Sale" that states that the "Seller Warranties that [1] he is the sole lawful owner of this vehicle, and [2] this vehicle is free of any liens and/or encumbrances. If you need something else that I can provide, I will help where I can. As to the mileage..., the odometer reads 16,139. It is possible that this is the actual mileage however; I think it is more probable that the actual mileage is either 116,139 miles or somewhere in between. As to storage and pick up..., Buyer may pick the car up at my location in Augusta, Maine. I would be glad to continue to store this car inside for up to 60 days while pick up arrangements are made. If you need more time, I will work with you. If you pick up, or have it picked up, I will be available to help in any way that I can. As to delivery..., I am willing to personally deliver this car to anywhere in the continental US for a fee. If you have any questions, email me and we can discuss through email, or we can exchange cell phone numbers and actually talk. I googled replacement parts for this car and most anything you will need or want is available. For instance, the floor and trunk pans are available for about $200- ea. A new top is about $300- for vinyl or $500- for cloth. I think this car is an excellent candidate to either be fixed up relatively inexpensively to be driven, or undergo a full restoration. This car had a poor paint job within the last 5 years to preserve the metal. Fully restored this car should have a value of around $40,000.
