Vehicle Detail

My 1975 Chevy Nova LN I bought this car in 2005, it was completely stock then. The exterior was brown and had the original factory paint. It had no dents and only a little rust under each of the two rear side windows. The motor and transmission are original. I stripped the interior out and removed all trim before sending it to a body shop. They fixed the small amount of rust and painted it with a base coat clear coat. I cleaned up and painted some of the interior trim and reinstalled it. I had always planned to get the seats recovered but never did. The paint looks very good and the body shop installed all new door and trunk weather stripping. Though the weather stripping looks correct it must be installed poorly because it leaks in a high pressure carwash. I added the final stripes to the sides of the car, I like them a lot but I’m told they can be removed with a hairdryer. I stripped the exhaust out and installed headers. I then took it to an exhaust shop that put in two inch custom exhaust including two inch free flow catalytic converters and mildly loud Holly mufflers. I then replaced that two barrel manifold with an Edelbrock manifold and Edelbrock four barrel carburetor. All the tie rod ends and other suspension parts had to be replaced before an alignment could be done, it now steers and tracks perfectly. I replaced the standard headlights with halogen fixtures that look like the original and installed with the factory wiring, no modifications were made. When I got the car the air conditioning did not work but I had it charged up and it worked for three summers. The air conditioning developed a leak and after changing the manifold I didn’t bother connecting it back up. The car came from Florida and they had the heater hose jumpered from, out of the water pump to back in. I found the heater core to be rotted and replaced it with new, the heat works great. I replaced the rear seal on the engine because of a small oil leak. The front seal in the transmission needs to be replaced, it leaks a little in my garage. When I bought the car it had never had a radio in it. It had a small cover over the radio location. Though I wanted to, I never cut that opening to accommodate the modern radio. I did buy a cheap radio but it didn’t fit correctly. It is still installed in the car. I put small tune-up speakers on the kick panels with double back tape and six by nine speakers in the rear where they belong. I also installed a power amp in the trunk to power those two rear speakers. It sounds OK but someone needs to either buy a fairly expensive aftermarket radio that fits in the original holes, or just cut a rectangle and install a modern radio. The brakes, tires and rims were all installed the first year I had it, however I have put less than 5,000 miles on the car so they are still very good. I believe this car is exactly what it appears to be. The mileage is original, never been changed or rolled over. The floor boards and the trunk has never had rust holes and have never have been repaired. Everywhere I go people comment or give the thumbs up! I believe someone could buy this car and drive it, as is, for a very long time. I think the door and trunk seals could be salvaged if they were only glued into place. Further improvements would include: transmission seals, repair or update the air conditioning compressor, recover the seats and install a better stereo. The LN was the only way to buy a Nova with cloth bucket seats & door panels, center console and that cool slapstick automatic shifter. The shifter, when put in 1st gear, and moved to the right, will only shift one gear at a time, Slap Shifter. This car has always been stored for the winter and in my garage in the summer. The only time it’s seen rain is that two or three times I got caught in the rain. Please write with any questions! I love this car and am happy to talk about it all day. The only reason I’m selling it is financial. Please do not ask the reserve price, after all, that is the reason for a reserve price. Please only bid what you are willing to pay.
