Vehicle Detail
This is a nicely used 1973 Triumph TR7. This is a 750cc twin with a five speed gearbox. Most of the hardware had changed to American standard nuts and bolts by 1973, so you probably already have most of the tools required to maintain this motorcycle. The motor and frame numbers match and there is a clear title for this motorcycle. This bike starts easily and idles nicely. It has a Boyer electronic ignition installed already. This is a single carburetor model, which eliminates the fuss of trying to keep two carburetors in tune. Overall this is a nice bike, but it does have some issues. The tachometer is currently not working. The side stand and side stand lug need work because the bike leans too far over on the stand. This is a very common problem that is caused by someone kick starting the bike while it is on the side stand. If the bike is started this way enough, over time the stand and lug bend and the bike leans too far. 1973 was the first year for the T140/TR7. These early examples use “Push in” pipes rather than the “push over” style. These push in style pipes often have problems coming loose at the cylinder head. The right side pipe on this motorcycle is a little loose. There is a fix to punch out the exhaust ports and put adapters in to accept “push over” style pipes. The fix requires removing the cylinder head, and purchasing another set of pipes. We perform this fix quite often, and sell the adapters you need. There is also one small tear in the seat. Other than these minor issues this is a nice Triumph. We will ship this motorcycle worldwide (except to the countries listed on our exclusion list, please click the shipping tab above this description for more information). We can handle domestic shipments. International shipping arrangements will be the responsibility of the winning bidder. We can have this bike crated for export for around $475, beyond that the shipping arrangements are up to international bidders.
